Patient case
ASIA | PACIFIC
The teeth of this 45-year-old female patient had previously been restored with composite veneers, which in the meantime had become
severely stained due to many years of tetracycline treatment. The
patient was very eager to improve the esthetic appearance of her

would be placed for this purpose. The aim of
the treatment was visualized with the help of
a mock-up. All the relevant parameters were
checked on the basis of a chairside-fabricated provisional.

"This case had a very high complexity due
to the need for reproducing the colour of
the dark abutment teeth. In the end,
however, a very high brightness

The teeth of the patient were prepared,
impressions were taken and provisionals
were placed. Clearly improved results were
achieved at this preliminary stage. The permanent veneers were layered on refractory
dies using IPS e.max Ceram. A mixture of
Mamelon and Essence (white) materials produced the opacity required for concealing
the dark tooth structure. The restorations
were individualized with Dentin and Transpa
as well as Opal Effect materials. The placed
veneers showed excellent symmetry and a
very pleasing esthetic result.
