The perfect location with ghostly sites like ‘Hangmans Hill’, where
three witches were reputedly hanged and ‘The Suicide Pool’, which
according to some is, “evil beyond measure”, and draws victims
to commit suicide - exact location unknown…
Epping Forest was the hunting ground of the legendary
Highwayman, Dick Turpin - numerous sightings of a ghost
wearing a tricorn hat riding a horse have been reported in
the forest.

Fright Hike?
The ‘Hike’ in Fright Hike is a challenging 30km
trek and definitely not just a walk in the park - a
charity challenge that takes place around
Halloween 2014 in Epping Forest, one of the
spookiest of forest locations we could find...

Get a team together and choose your charity
The Fright Hike challenge is simple, but not for
the faint hearted – each walker makes their way
around the 30km route within 6 hours.
Hundreds of people from across the UK will
come together to take part in this tough but fun
social event, so grab your friends, family and
colleagues and come Fright Hiking this
Halloween!
Taking part
Fright Hike is designed for both teams and individuals - sign up as
a team and support each other on your Halloween hike or sign
up as an individual and our Fright Hike crew will support you.
However you choose to take part, our marvellous event crew
will be there for you every step of the way.
Individuals – if you want to join us but can’t get a
team together please don’t let that stop you. We
will ensure you get the right motivation to see you
complete the event. There will be groups of other
individual walkers taking part to meet and share the
Fright Hike experience along the way.
Teams – why not take part and support each other?
Many teams will be taking part – corporate teams
supporting their charity of the year, groups of family and
friends, sports clubs - anyone can form a Fright Hike
team! Teams can either fundraise for the same charity
together, or team members can choose their own charity.
Ghosts and spooks aside, be aware that Fright Hike is a tough
walking challenge as well as being a fun social event.
The 30km course is not easy and we require all walkers to be
able to complete the route within 6 hours.

Upon registration you will be asked to choose
one of the payment options below. Please note
this is in addition to the registration fee.
Full event backup and support
through Global Adventure
Challenges will be provided,
including marshalled
checkpoints providing
complimentary snacks and
refreshments.
All you need to do is log on to the Fright Hike
website at www.fright-hike.com and complete
the registration process.

80% of the fundraising target (£112)
must be received by your chosen charity
no later than 6 weeks prior to the
challenge (i.e. 20th September 2014).
At this time, your chosen charity will pay
the cost of the challenge (£39) from your
minimum sponsorship.
The other 20% and pledges for the
remaining sponsorship must be sent to
your charity no later than 4 weeks after
completion of the event.
Support vehicles will be
along the route with full
medical and first aid
support on hand.
Walking leaders will be
on trail providing
extra support and
don't forget, you'll
have a great time!
Payment Option B –
Self-funding
Registration Fee + £39 per person
6 weeks prior to the event an invoice will
be sent to you for the challenge balance
of £39. Although there is no minimum
sponsorship requirement, we do ask you
raise funds for a charity of your choice.

challenge leaders and there will be marshalled checkpoints.

From the moment you sign up for Fright Hike, we will be there
to support you throughout the lead up until your challenge:

Comprehensive event guide – we’ve been organising charity challenge events
for a long time now, so follow our advice and we’ll ensure you’re prepared and
have heaps of fun.

Training Guides - trekking for 30km will be very difficult if you don’t take part
in regular walking activities, but with the correct training and with our expert
support, it is very achievable.
