Summer Session Class Day
Summer session ended with a class day on Friday.
Mrs. Tu’s class gave power point presentations and the
guitar club performed.
Also, the following rewards were presented:

First Semester Begins September 1
The Staff of ICA are busy in preparation for the
annual of the boarding students on Saturday, September
1, 2012. Day students on Saturday are to report on
Monday Monday, September 3, 2012.
On Monday ICA opened with over 200 students
from Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Canada and the United
States.
Faculty Orientation Begins August 27, 2012
On Monday, August 27, 2012, ICA’s faculty will
begin a week long orientation and Teacher’s workshops.
Workshops will be held on differentiated teaching,
multiple assessments, writing across the curriculum
intervention strategies and teaching the non English
speakers.
Prefects Returned August 28.
ICA’s prefects returned on Tuesday, August
28. to participate in a leadership workshop and help
organize the resident halls for the annual of the
student body on September 1.
Rainbow House
Fourteen faculty members will be moving into
brand new apartments at the Rainbow House, which
is located a short distance for the main campus. Also,
construction has started on a second athletic field
which will enable ICA to play 11 on 11 soccer.
Soccer Field
ICA’s new soccer field is ready for play. The
field is located across the street for the academy. The
Men’s Varsity Soccer Team is already practicing on
the field.
Brian Chen Awarded Taiwan Government
Scholarship
The Taiwan government for the first time
awarded two four year scholarships to graduating
high school students for study abroad. Brian Chen
2012 has been awarded one of the two scholarships
based on his academic record. violin performances
and for his senior thesis.
The scholarship award is 55,000 USD per year
plus 10,000 USD for books and expenses as well as
air fare.
