Thursday, June 13 (Camp begins each day at 9:00
am and ends at 11:00 am)
Younger players will have use of lower baskets for this camp
session that focuses on the basic skills of basketball. UMD
coaches and players will work with campers on both individual
and small group basis focusing on the fundamentals through
the use of stations, daily contests, and games.

Advanced Camp
Grades 8-12

Friday, June 14 (Registration at 5:00 pm)
Sunday, June 16 (Camp ends at noon)
This camp is an advanced skill training camp that will polish
your skills for the July tournaments and upcoming recruiting
season. The use of video analysis of individual player's shots
will enable coaches to make specific corrections. Coaches will
run position specific drills that are designed to break down
each position assisting both guard and post play. Additionally,
nutrition and strength and conditioning topics will be covered
to address all aspects of the athlete.
Camp Fee: $245 Overnight Campers (mail in $255)

All Girls Camp
Grades 3-12

Wednesday, July 17 (Camp ends at noon) (Camp
begins each day at 9:00 am, Commuters will be
excused at 9:00 pm)
The "All Girls Camp" session emphasizes the fundamentals of
basketball on an individual and team basis. Campers will
be split into age-appropriate groups and teams. Campers
will receive instruction from UMD players and coaches.
Campers will have a chance to work on a variety of skills in the
game of basketball, plus the opportunity to play 5 on 5, 3 on 3,
and many other contests and games. Each camper will receive
a camp t-shirt and player evaluation.

***The "All Girls Camp" will be swimming at the
Edgewater Resort & Waterpark

UMD Girls'
Basketball Camps
Dear campers/parents:
Thank you for considering UMD Girls Basketball
camps this summer. We are excited to work with you
on something we all love, BASKETBALL. Our fundamental camps are great for individuals who are always
wanting to improve. UMD players and coaches will
work with campers on an individual and small group
basis. We look forward to having you on the campus
of UMD this summer for the best basketball camps in
Minnesota!
GO BULLDOGS!! Coach Wiles
Annette Wiles
Camp Director
Coach Wiles is in her fifth season
as the head coach at UMD. Coach
Wiles has produced successful
teams on the court and in the
classroom. The Bulldogs landed on
the WBCA National Academic top
25 list in three of her first four
years. She has guided her teams to two National
Tournament appearances in just four years, with these
coming in 2009-10 and 2011-12 seasons. Before taking the helm at UMD she was the head coach at Fort
Hays State in Kansas. Prior to leading the Lady Tigers
she was the head coach at Bethany College in Linsborg, Kansas. She has compiled an impressive 369186 record in her 19 years of head coaching experience. In
her 19 years of coaching she has competed in seven
national tournaments. She has been inducted into the
FHSU Tigers Hall of Fame and the Rocky Mountain Conference Hall of Fame. Coach Wiles will be joined by UMD
players and high school coaches to complete her summer
camp staff.
Jess Abrahams
Assistant Coach
Jess Abrahams is also in her fifth
season here at UMD. Before her
coaching duties began at UMD she
was an assistant coach at Minnesota
State University, Mankato for four
seasons. She completed her playing
career at St. Cloud State University
where she played guard for the Huskies. In her sophomore season she helped lead her team to the NCAA
Division II National Tournament.

For Participation and
Medical Information
Insurance and Medical Treatment
All campers must have medical insurance. You must complete the enrollment form. By signing this form you
acknowledge the inherent risk of injury by participation.
An injury can range from a minor injury to a major injury.
Such injuries could cause permanent disability, such as,
paralysis, permanent bone or joint injury, permanent
scars, other chronic disabling conditions, and even death.
If your son or daughter experiences a minor injury, first aid
will be provided. For a major injury, an ambulance will be
summoned to transport your son or daughter to a local
hospital. First aid will be provided by a Certified Athletic
trainer on staff.
Meals
For Commuter campers, meals include Lunch and Dinner, for Resident campers meals will include Breakfast,
Lunch, and Dinner. All meals are provided by UMD Food
Service in the Residential Hall Dining Center, with the
exception of one evening, which will be a pizza night.
Housing
All overnight campers will be housed two to a room, in a
24 hour supervised university residence hall. There are no
accommodations for a three person room.
Cancellation Policy
Partial refunds (75% of the camp fee), are only allowed
due to medical necessity and must be accompanied
by medical verification.
UMD athletics reserves the right to change and/or cancel camps at any time, in which a full refund will be
issued.

Medical conditions the youth program staff and medical emergency services
personnel need to be made aware of:
I wish to register my minor child named above and consent to my child’s participation in the Summer Sports Camps and/or Leagues sponsored by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics of the University of Minnesota Duluth during the summer 2013.
I recognize that participation in recreational and instructional activities, even when
well supervised and managed, pose a risk of physical injury to my child, and I
agree to assume such a risk on behalf of my child.
I understand that children registered for UMD Athletic’s summer sports camps and/
or leagues will receive instruction in the basic principles of the sport(s) of their
choice(s) and will spend a significant amount of time practicing and performing
sporting techniques and performing a variety of enrichment techniques under the
supervision of experienced instructors, and I consent to my child’s participation in
this program.
I consent to the use of video recordings and photographs of my child’s participation
in UMD Athletics summer sports camp and league programs.
I certify that my child has no medical condition or impairment, including the use of
medication, that might inhibit his or her participation.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
I, the undersigned, hereby hold the Regents of the University of Minnesota harmless
from liability for any and all medical and/or accident expenses which my minor child
may incur during his/her involvement in the Summer Sports camps and/or leagues
at the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, University of Minnesota Duluth. I
hereby certify that my child is provided coverage via personal health and accident
insurance in effect which is sufficient to cover any and all of the expenses, noted
above, which might incur:
