“Tucson’s film scene and movie nerds are plentiful,
and the pinnacle of our cinema love has, and
continues to be, The Loft Cinema. The ultimate
source of independent films, unique Q&As,
special guests and favorite cult films, the threescreen theater continues to reign supreme in the
community.” - Best of Tucson, Tucson Weekly
MISSION STATEMENT
The Loft is a local nonprofit cinema dedicated to creating
community through film, honoring the vision of filmmakers,
celebrating ideas and promoting the appreciation and
understanding of the art of film.
03
DEAR FRIENDS OF THE LOFT,
2015 was a record-breaking year for The Loft Cinema, thanks to a
community that loves films and values The Loft and to the passionate
people with whom I have the honor to work! The Loft’s eclectic films
and events make Tucson a more vibrant and fun place to live.
In 2015, The Loft set records for attendance, box office, concession
revenue and memberships!
And as you know, we PAVED THE PARKING LOT, adding bike racks
and a new fully accessible entry! No more potholes!
We also made a major commitment to FILM, installing a changeover
projector system that can show 35mm and 70mm film prints!
There’s more work to do, but we’ve come a long way since 2002, and
we’ve done it with YOUR help! I’m proud to share this report with
you!
Peggy Johnson
Executive Director
