Olsen, Layton Flynn and Chad Kobal. We are building replicas that will start off
new height maximum. This year Lawn Display is being designed and constructed by Jon
resembling a New York scene at night and transform into central campus. The final product
will include the likenesses of the Empire State Building, the Carnegie Center, Broadway, the
Campanile, Curtiss Hall, Beardshear Hall, and Jack Trice Stadium. The final skits will be on
display October 21st with showings from 9:00pm to 10:30pm. Our General Co-Chairs this
year are Jason Wheat and Nate Witzel.
Yell Like Hell is going well. Our young freshmen are enjoying the opportunity to
mingle with the freshmen and sophomores of our sorority pairing Kappa Kappa Gamma
two hours a night, three nights a week. Yell Like Hell is being led by Josh Hill, Austin Schott,
and Brock Johnson as well as Mattea Rainforth, Alumni Rich Rainforth’s daughter. First cuts
for Yell Like Hell will be on October 16, if we move on second cuts will be the 19th and
finals will be during the pep rally Friday the 21st.
There will be a homecoming pep rally featuring Paul Rhoads and the Iowa State
football team from 6:30pm to 8:00pm Friday the 21st. Many other teams will be making
appearances as well as the Yell Like Hell finals, which are sure to be as entertaining as
ever.
Other upcoming Homecoming events include a blood drive next week and tournaments
the week after including everything from flag football to Mario cart to bowling. Storefront
window displays as well as painting Victory Lane displays will be up on Sunday the 16th.
Storefront Window will consist of every pairing decorating the store windows on Welch
Avenue. Victory Lane is the center road that leads from Hilton Coliseum to Jack Trice
Stadium and will be covered in Homecoming decorations from all the pairings, as well.
