The South Dorchester Folk Museum
The mission of the South Dorchester Folk Museum Inc. (SDFM) is to assure the preservation of historically significant stories,
properties, and artifacts of the people of Southern Dorchester County. SDFM shall record the memories and accounts of individuals
who can speak about life in the early days of Dorchester County, and make these recordings available to the public for their personal
interest or research. SDFM shall cooperate with the Dorchester County Historical Society to assure the preservation and display of
historic artifacts from South Dorchester, and assist and cooperate with other organizations who have similar interests.

The Wild Goose Chase

A bicycle weekend for women of all ages and abilities!
Ride along flat roads and pristine salt-marshes, looking for eagles, ospreys, waterfowl,
warblers, and other wildlife in and around the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
Your participation in this fund-raiser event will help the Friends of Blackwater
continue to protect this critical habitat.

The Wild Goose Chase is an annual fundraiser for The Friends of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Your
contribution helps The Friends support the Refuge in maintaining critical habitat for migrating waterfowl,
songbirds, eagles, ospreys, shorebirds, and other Eastern Shore wildlife, providing scenic outdoor recreation and
education for schoolchildren, bird-watchers, hikers, bikers, paddlers, fishermen, hunters – and in turn supports
Dorchester tourism. Participants come from all over the region: MD, DE, VA, PA, WV, NJ, NY, and more!
Sponsor Directory Opportunity
 For $25, we will list your business in a directory for riders, who will be looking for places to eat,
stay, shop, visit, tour while here for the weekend, or when they return. Deadline: May 6.
What Do We Need?

Financial donations, going directly toward:
o Purchase of food items for rest stops
o Equipment rentals for rest stops
o Other expenses (Note: Friends of Blackwater is all-volunteer, no paid staff)

In-kind Donations – Examples:

be scheduled. If player cancels, 48 hours notice is required to receive 50% of entry
