A huge thank you goes out to all Jackson families for the
tremendous and generous support of our fundraiser. We have
raised over $4000 for packaging food on May 27th. Special
thanks to Bimm-Ridder for the awesome t-shirts and incredible donation, the
Jackson PTA for their generous donation and huge support, and the Jackson
staff for all they do every day for others, and especially for this worthy cause.
Friday, May 27th will be HAT DAY and JACKSON PRIDE DAY for
all adults and students. We will wear hats or hairnets during packing. We will
wear our Jackson t shirts or KAH shirts to show our support of Jackson
Elementary as a Kids Against Hunger packaging station.
Come to school to help us as we package the food.
All K-5 students will have a chance to work alongside KAH Iowa leaders Don
and Sandee Fields on May 27th in the gym. There are many jobs to do as part
of getting the food ready to be shipped to needy families. If you are free the
morning or afternoon of May 27th, please consider coming to school to help
us as we package the food that all those quarters bought! We need adult
volunteers from 8:45 to 3:40 that day. Please contact Connie Stusak at
[email protected] with your volunteer time. She will send you further
information to help you understand the packing process. You can also contact
your child’s classroom teacher directly to help during their timeframe.
Once again, thank you so very much!
It is simply incredible to witness the generosity of the Jackson community!
Jackson students have been able to recognize that hunger is a world problem,
help unknown families find fullness through KAH food, and to be a part of a
cause where individuals truly DO make a difference.
What a gift you all have given….thank you for making our world a better
place.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the
world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. Margaret Mead
