2.0 General
2.1 New Licenses
The following licenses have been added:
• iProtect recreation (PMC recreation; more information via Seijsener recreation technology)
2.2 Simplified licensing structure
The licensing structure of iProtect has been amended; in the previous version a new license was required for every update, including
debugging. As of version 8.00.xx, this is no longer necessary. A new license is now only required for functional releases. In practical
terms, a new license is no longer required when the ‘build number’ (the last two digits in the version number) is amended.
2.3 Layout
Layout and colour scheme have been somewhat amended in various places to improve the visibility of menus and readability of text,
without further affecting everyday use.
2.4 Relocation of menus
Two menus have been moved:
1.Battery level > moved to General > Overviews > Reports
2.Building management point, history > moved to General > Overviews > Reports
2.5 Menu option Keymap
As of version 8, the Keymap menu option will open as a pop-up window.
2.6 Remove person has been simplified.
Remove person is no longer a menu item in iProtect, this functionality has been integrated into the person dialogue. When removing
a person or group of persons, there is an option to simultaneously remove supplementary information.
Choices for removing persons are as follows:
• Persons visited
• Visitor data
• Card data
• Employee data
• Memos
• Vehicle information
• The historical events of the person

2.7 Text input and selection fields
Text input and selection fields are user-determined text or selection fields which can be configured according to the customer’s wishes
for each individual installation. This enables user-defined name and content.
These fields may be found under the header user-defined (among other places). The fields may also be used as a filter to enable
simple report creation, for example:
• Which emergency response persons are present in the production department
• Which product specialists are present in London
• Which safety certificates expire next Monday
• Which employees are staff association members
The number of text input and selection fields has been increased:
• Text input fields - from 7 to 14
• Selection fields - from 7 to 14
• Text input and selection fields to be displayed in the person dialogue may be selected per user group. This function enables
selection of the information that is (in)visible to certain groups of employees.
Available free fields per person/employee:
• Text input fields
• Editable combo boxes, person
• Editable combo boxes, employee
• Editable date fields

2.8 Card user
This functionality, introduced in version 7.06, has been considerably expanded. It is now a freely definable dialogue which can include
persons as well as employees, card and rights information.
This allows you to use a single screen for registering a person, assigning a card and allocating and/or managing rights. This is
especially useful for users who do not use all options and who currently use various dialogues to manage a person or employee in the
system.
www.tkhsecurity.com
www.siqura.com
Compilation of card user dialogue from all selected fields is fully automatic. Selection is possible from all fields in Person, Photo,
Employee Images, Card and Selection of card groups. If a full display is not possible in a single screen, one or more tabs are
automatically created. Integration with Salto is also possible.
Combined use of the familiar Person/Employee/Card dialogues and Card User is possible, providing even more flexibility when using
iProtect. Card User dialogue compilation may be configured per user group.
2.9 User action
User action is a new item in the menu and includes what were previously referred to as programmed tasks. User action now provides
four options:
• Open menu item
Converts a menu item into a user action
• Open document
Opens any document, which can then be saved on the iProtect server. This could, for example, be a Word document that is opened by
an alarm or one that acts as an instruction form.
• Open URL
Opens any URL in a new window or within a floor plan; for example an iProtect presence browser or a freely selected website.
• Report selection
This option contains the predefined reports with all variable settings.
Report selections are made by means of the added “pre-selection” key, via the menus under which the reports are created.
An item that has become a user action can immediately be placed on a floor plan as a shortcut or, even better, as a widget - another
feature that has become available since version 8.00.
3.0 Widgets
Widget is the general term for the elements from which a graphic user environment may be compiled (windows, menus, buttons, radio
buttons, symbols, etc.). Within a Microsoft environment they are also called Gadgets.
In Keymap this amounts to a completely new method for presenting information to the user. It is particularly effective for displaying
information and managing iProtect. It turns a Keymap into a personal dashboard.
The Widgets enable a fully personalised dashboard to be made for each user group, removing the need for the current menu structure.
A dashboard containing a number of widgets is sufficient to manage iProtect for most user groups, whether they are reception, the HR
department, security or technical support.
Several standards are defined within these widgets, offering a choice between:
Camera monitoring
This widget displays camera images with selection buttons for different cameras.
Graphic
This widget presents numbers in a graphic display. An example is the variation in numbers of people present in the building or parking
lot.
Intercom
This widget allows for direct access to the daily operation of the intercom stations, including the associated cameras.
Keymap
This presents a floor plan as a widget in a Keymap; all functions normally required within a floor plan are fully operational in the widget.
Presence
This widget displays presence in a zone: in addition to name, prefix and first name, further columns may be added via the dialogue
definition. One can choose from all user-defined fields (38 in total).
In the example below the visible, user-defined fields are emergency response personnel, safety instructions and instructions 'valid to'.

Status list
Status list widgets may be defined by the user and are all displayable in a widget overview; the user may choose which widgets are to be
displayed. As a result this option is a very useful, flexible and convenient method for displaying an overview of the items of importance to
the dashboard user. Examples are menu selection, network status, toilets for the disabled, battery status, list of predefined reports, call
points, temperature, water detection, etc. Below are just a few of the many options suitable for placement in an iProtect widget.
Card reader example
In this example 4 columns are created:
• Name
• Status > clicking this opens a window showing the status, which can be modified. The colour indicates the current status
• Pulse > clicking this opens the door once
• Event > opens a window showing the recent events for this reader
Freedom of choice in setting up
The widgets offer numerous possibilities and provide freedom of choice in setting up your own dashboard. The colour settings for the
widgets and texts are freely definable; in addition there is the choice of showing a widget in full screen. This can be especially useful for
the camera widget or for lists where more columns are displayed in the large format than in the smaller representation.
3.1 Quick creation of standard widgets
The basis of a widget can be set up quickly via creation of a floor plan. A widget is then created directly via the option default widget
creation list (this is a wizard) - with a custom group and the items selected to be shown in the list.
3.2 Media element
A new media element has been added, which now offers the possibility of making external web pages visible within Keymap by means of
snippit code.
When this media element is placed on a Keymap (floor plan), the external contents are shown. Some examples of this are, for example,
weather radar / Twitter / traffic information.
NB: The data shown comes from an external website. We cannot guarantee its functionality, whether it continues to exist, its availability
or what the contents of this site are. These widgets may, of course, be used in combination with the widgets mentioned above retrieved
from the iProtect system.

Below are several websites containing examples:
http://www.leejoo.nl/gratis-tools/nieuws.htm
(including weather radar, football results, news headlines)
http://nl.investing.com/webmaster-tools/
(including exchange rates, share prices, interest rates)
3.3 Option text widget button
In previous versions, when an action button was placed on a floor plan the name of the chosen object was automatically assigned to it
(e.g. the procedure name or the camera preset name). This remains the standard as of version 8, but a new name can now be
assigned to the button (3 languages).
Example of Widget dashboard in iProtect
3.4 Extra function for managing widgets
Extra is added to all widgets and to the existing icons. As of now the function of the left mouse button and the option to deactivate
both the left and right mouse buttons may be determined per function. These options are especially useful with touch screen
operation and for quicker access from the floor plans to frequently used functions. The visibility of icons has also now been made
adjustable.
4.0 Mail
Previously this was part of programmed tasks but as of version 8 it has become a separate item in order to present the Mail function
more clearly.
The Mail function is now split into two parts:
Adress Selection
This function allows choice of the person/s and group or department to which this mail must be sent.
4.1 Date and time
Several settings have been added to the general date and time options:
• Take over all time settings from Host (from iProtect server)
• All time settings are manual
• Use NTP server, adopt all its settings
• Use NTP server, time zone and daylight saving are manual
www.tkhsecurity.com
www.siqura.com
Previously the time set on the server itself (not the iProtect time) was of no importance. As of version 8 it is important that this time is
correctly set. These settings are not made in the iProtect user interface.
4.2 Autoselect
Previously, in the event of an alarm, there was a fixed definition of the floor plan in the alarm procedure. As of version 8 there is an
opportunity for self-selection from a group of floor plans. This is especially useful for call points or other technical alerts that share a
common trigger for the “alarm”.
5.0 Access
5.1 Card and pin code
An error message will now appear when a pin code is linked to a card and the entered code does not match the settings for processing
the pin card.
5.2 Card event
The card event menu option is a new addition. This useful function enables immediate live viewing of all events related to all cards of a
specific type. In addition, further filters may be applied to locate a specific card. This option may be integrated directly into a floor plan
via a user selection and a widget.
5.3 Node events
As in the case of card events, it is now also possible to access node events (for example Orbit, Polyx or a central intrusion control panel),
for immediate live viewing of what is taking place at the location. This function is especially useful for the installer.
5.4 Presence (real-time)
In addition to all existing presence overviews, an overview is now available for viewing real-time presence including a number of
user-defined columns with zone as required selection criteria.
Changing zones can be done on the fly without any additional actions being required.
5.5 Visitors
Entry of visitor data is faster and simpler as the card group and parking block listbox has been added to the visitor dialogue. Listbox
compilation takes place in the user group settings.
5.6 Anti-passback
The anti-passback function now offers additional features:
• Must be inside
• Access is only granted once the card (person) is already inside a zone (has already entered the premises)
• Must be in the same zone
• Access is only granted when the card (person) is already in the zone in which the access will take place. (there is no change of zones,
but an extra check on whether the person is already in that zone)
5.7 Zone Hysteresis
A new option is added to the zone management of iProtect, namely Hysteresis. This option is added to both parking and access zones
in full and nearly full situations and may be set for total, card, manual, short parking and loops. For example: a zone with 100 places is
set to a hysteresis of 5. In this case, the full indicator lights up between 96 and 100.
5.8 Continues read function expanded
The continues read function of card readers has been expanded with a time registration booking option. The continues read function is
used for sending controls, for example to roller doors and other machines. The overhead door can only be opened or closed if the card
is inserted in the card holder. The machine can only be started or stopped when the card is inserted in the card holder. The added
function of time registration enables accurate tracking of user identity and duration of use in relation to equipment.

6.0 IPvideo
6.1 ONVIF
Given the evolution of standardised camera protocols we have added the ONVIF standard to iProtect. This provides several advantages,
such as automatic camera detection (search function) and a broader portfolio of cameras which can be directly connected to iProtect.
The supported ONVIF versions are:
• On, off and sub-switching of the Zones
• On and off switching by Sirius card readers
• Automatic adjustment of reader status based on central intrusion control panel status, for example blocking of card readers when
intrusion is activated.
• ONVIF Device Management Service WSDL
• ONVIF Media Service WSDL
• ONVIF PTZ Service WSDL

version 2.4
6.2 Performance boost
A considerable performance boost has been realised with cameras directly connected to an iProtect server, significantly reducing CPU
loads and providing faster motion detection.
7.0 Intrusion
7.1 Alphatronics XL
As of version 8.0 the Alphatronics type XL intrusion control panel is supported by iProtect.
The following functions are available:
• Self-learning of all detectors including designations
• Reset function
• Bypassing detectors
• Imaging of alarm groups and detectors on floor plans
• Ready to set functionality
The Alphatronics XL central station, including detectors, can also be supplied by Keyprocessor.
7.2 Security zone
The intrusion control panel security zones (blocks) can now also be linked to access zones of the Galaxy control panels of Honeywell, the
GE ATS and the Alphatronics XL. This option allows the intrusion installation to be switched on and off via the card readers.
Card readers may also be blocked and/or access only granted to cards that are authorised to switch the alarm on and/or off, on a
fully-automatic basis. There is an option to have the card reader display the status of the intrusion installation.

8.0 Assessments
8.1 Reports
Many customers frequently use the same reports for calamities, management and evaluation purposes. To create these reports, the
required report generator must be accessed via the menu structure, the specific report settings selected and the report can then be
generated.
This process is now simpler and faster as a result of being able to pre-select the report and then place it, with its specific settings, as a
single button on a floor plan. Frequently recurring reports are therefore significantly simpler and quicker to compile and possible errors
resulting from incorrect selections are prevented.
A number of standard periods have been provided, to facilitate selection of a standard reporting frequency:
• Today
• Yesterday
• Last week
• Last month
• Last 4 weekly periods
This option has been added to the following reports:
• General > overviews > reports > event reports
• General > overviews > reports > detailed event reports
• General > overviews > reports > action report
• Access > overviews > reports > presence zone
• Access > overviews > reports > (unauthorised) access
• Access > overviews > reports > zone
• Visitor > overviews > reports > daily report
• Visitor > overviews > reports > present in zone
• General > overviews > reports > battery level
• General > overviews > reports > building management point history
8.2 Card graph
To provide more insight into the daily management of iProtect, several graphic overviews have been created. The user now has several
selection options in compiling this overview:
• Period
• Graph type
• Invalid/valid cards
• Cards added/removed
• Cards added by
Additional printing options are available within each graph type.
8.3 Occupancy overview
Various new features have been added to occupancy overview, such as:
• Report data, absolute
• Graph type X-Y
• Line graph and bar graph
• All months on 1 graph
• Only show loop movements
• Data export in CSV or XML
