2. Opening the Board
Congratulations on the purchase of your new
Hills Extra Large Rotating Caddy Ironing
Board which will bring you many years of fine
operation.
2.1 To open your board, hold the entire unit
vertically, facing away from you with the
nose of the board pointing downwards and
release the catch on either the left hand or
right hand side by depressing the paddle
lever.
It’s important that you read this Product Manual
thoroughly before installation to benefit from
the design features and enjoy safe use of this
product.

2.2 Once the legs have become disengaged,
angle the board to a horizontal position
whilst the legs descend until they have
made gentle contact with the floor.
3. Height adjustment
3.1 To increase the working height, depress
both paddle levers and raise the board top
until the desired height is reached. Apply a
small amount of pressure to the top of the
board to ensure the legs have been locked
into position.
3.2 To decrease the working height, depress
both paddle levers and lower the board top
until the desired height is reached. Apply a
small amount of pressure to the top of the
board to ensure the legs have been locked
into position.

4. The Ironing Caddy
Your Hills Extra Large Rotating Caddy Ironing
Board comes with an innovative pivoting caddy
that allows you to swivel the caddy towards
you whilst ironing. This allows you to easily
place the iron in the caddy and also to use the
full length of the board for ironing.
There are hanging spaces on both sides of the
caddy for a Hills Laundry Sprayer and dimples
that will support shirts and blouses on coat
hangers.
There is a holder for the Hills Water Jug and
hooks for the Hills Cord Master.
4.1 To operate the pivot, pull caddy out from
back of the board holding the caddy grip
until you feel it click into place (Fig. 1).
The Caddy can now be pivoted to the left
or right of the board to suit your
ironing position.

Ironing Tip: If ironing long items, the caddy
can be pivoted away from you, to the
other side of the board, to utilise the full
length of the board.
4.2 To retract, pivot caddy back to central
position using the caddy grip.
Gently feel the caddy engage into the
retracting channel. Once engaged, slide
the caddy back into the retracted storage
position.
CAUTION – Do not exceed 5kg load evenly
arranged along the caddy as it may cause
the board to tip over and serious injury
may occur.

5.1 Ensure that the iron caddy is in the rest
position by centering the caddy and then
sliding it back under the board so that only
the outer lip is visible. Lift the board off the
ground using the caddy grip and depress
either the left or the right hand side paddle
and place gentle pressure on the side of
the board still in contact with the ground.
When the legs are fully closed, ensure that
the locking hook has engaged onto the
inside of the legs.
This ironing board comes with a cord
management system which includes a Cord
Master clip-on counterweight and utilises a
special slot in the iron caddy.
7.1 Swivel the caddy into the desired operating
position.
7.2 Slide your iron’s cord into the hook closest
to your ironing hand (Fig. 2).

6. Storing the Iron
7.4 Clip the Cord Master to the iron cord
directly below the caddy (Fig. 4).
This will allow the weight to retract the cord
and keep it out of your way while
you are ironing.
6.1 The caddy features heat resistant silicone
strips to protect the caddy from the heat of

the iron.
Once the caddy is in the open position,
place the iron plate down at approximately
45 degree angle
onto the silicone
strips.

CAUTION – Do not place the iron on the
grey plastic part of the caddy as injury or
damage may occur. Only place the iron
(at approximately 45 degree angle) on the
silicone strips.

8. Hills Water Jug
The Hills Extra Large Rotating Caddy Ironing
Board comes with a Hills Water Jug which has
its own convenient storage options
on the ironing board.
8.1 The Jug comes stored between the
front legs of the board. This is the
recommended storage position while
empty and not in use (Fig. 5).

8.2 When in use, there is a special cradle on
the iron caddy to support the jug from
toppling (Fig. 6).
8.3 When storing the board stow away the
water jug by pushing it from the back into
the original position between the front legs
(Fig. 7).

9.1 The Hills Extra Large Rotating Caddy
Ironing Board is fitted with wheels to make
storing and moving your ironing board
easier.
The Hills Laundry Sprayer can be stored in the
recesses on the caddy which can be identified
by the icon (Fig. 8).
The Hills Laundry Sprayer can be purchased as
an accessory.

9.2 When folded and in the upright position,
the ironing board can be wheeled along
most indoor surfaces.

10. Fitting the Cover
10.1 Attach the cover at the rear of the ironing
board first then pull the cover over the
nose of the ironing board. Once on, pull
the elastic drawstring and slide up the
toggle to achieve a secure fit.

You do not need to wash the cover before
using it. Over time, washing the cover may
result in the fabric fading before the cover
requires replacement as a result of wear
and tear. If you do choose to wash the
cover, follow the care instructions on the
product label.

Warranty
1.Hills provides consumers with the following
warranty in relation to this Product, in
addition to complying with the
requirements of any relevant legislation,
including the Competition and Consumer
Act 2010 (Cth) in Australia and the
Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 in New
Zealand (the Acts), except where a New
Zealand consumer acquires the relevant
Product for the purposes of a business.
2.In this warranty, we have used the
following definitions:
(a) Hills, our or we means Hills Limited
(ABN 35 007 573 417) of
159 Port Road Hindmarsh South
Australia 5007;
(b) Products means the following goods
manufactured by Hills (including
products manufactured for Hills by
its contract manufacturers):
Hills Extra Large Rotating Caddy
Ironing Board;
(c) Material means a material or
component used by Hills in the
manufacture of the Products;
(d) W
arranty Period means 3 years from
the date of purchase of the relevant
Product and, in relation to the cover
and underlay, means a period of one
year from the date of purchase of the
Product. If the Product or part (as the
case may be) is repaired or replaced,
there will be no extension to the original
warranty period; and
(e) Workmanship means the handling,
assembly and manufacturing processes
performed by or on behalf of Hills in
order to manufacture the Products.

3.Hills warrants that for the duration of the
Warranty Period, all Products will be free of
faults arising from defects in Workmanship
or Materials, on the terms and conditions
set out in this warranty.
4.Hills undertakes that if during the Warranty
Period any Product, or any part of a
Product, has failed to operate correctly due
to faulty Workmanship or defective Material,
it will repair or replace the Product or part
(as the case may be) free of charge provided
that the following procedure is met:
(a)The consumer must contact Hills upon
becoming aware of any defect to a
Product. The contact details for Hills are
set out in this warranty and under the
heading “Hills contacts”.
(b) Following consultation with Hills, Hills
will determine whether there is a defect,
and if so Hills agrees to (at Hills’ option):
i.in the case of goods – repair, replace
or supply equivalent goods, or pay
the cost of any of those remedies to
the consumer; or
ii.in the case of services – supply the
services again or pay the cost of
having the services supplied again.
(c)If Hills requests the return of the
applicable Product or part, Hills will be
responsible for the collection and freight
costs of returning that Product or part.
The consumer agrees to assist Hills with
any reasonable request to enable Hills
to collect such Product or part.
(d)Hills also agrees to be responsible for
the freight costs to deliver any new
Product or replacement part to the
consumer.

Warranty
5. T
his warranty is in addition to any
non-excludable legal rights or remedies
conferred on the consumer under any
applicable Act and any similar laws. To the
extent permitted by law, Hills’ liability for
any non-excludable condition or warranty
is limited to rectifying any defect at its
option, as set out in paragraph 4(b).
8.The warranty on Products is waived if any
addition or attachment to the Products do
not have Hills’ specific approval or are not
sold as Hills products. The Products are
designed to perform specific tasks under
established test loads and unauthorised
attachments may produce stresses for
which the design is not appropriate.
6.Subject to the requirements of any
applicable Act or legislation and to
the extent permitted by law, no liability
(whether expressed or implied) of any
nature whatsoever, is accepted by Hills
for any consequential loss, damage or
injury arising as a result of any fault in the
Products.
9.The following applies to consumers who
purchased a relevant Product in Australia:

to Products which occurs during transit or
transportation, or which is caused by any
abuse, accident or improper installation,
connection, use, adjustment or repair or
use of goods otherwise than in accordance
with instructions issued by Hills.
