As President of the Martial Arts Academy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with my colleagues,
We would you like with pleasure to invite you on March 1st., to the IMAF BiH OpenTournament.
Martial arts practitioners and their schools will meet in the sports hall of the Economics School
to compete and share their Martial Arts knowledge and techniques.
Kodokan Judo, Sport Ju Jutsu, KenJutsu, Semi and Light Contact, Karate Kumite and Karate
Kate (Shotokan and Wado Ryu styles) will be represented from competitors from all over the
Europe .
An International IMAF Europe – Open Tournament 2014
The success of the event is 100% secure, since its approved and supervise by IMAF Europe.
Our experience is proven throughout years of hosting such sport event. We assure that this event
will be one of the most successful and exciting tournaments you have ever participated.
Our main purpose will always be and always will remain, the promotion and the development of
MARTIAL ARTS .

Welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Welcome to Brcko distrikt
Brcko is situated in the north-east Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the right bank of Sava River. The
important junction of local and international roads leading from East to West and from North to
South defines its well-located tourist and geographic position. Brcko is located 200 km away from
Sarajevo and Belgrade, and about 300 km away from Zagreb. It is 30 km away from the international
highway of the Pan-European character Coridor X (the Belgrade – Zagreb highway).
Brcko covers the area of 493 km² (1% of the B&H territory).
According to the unofficial estimates about 100.000 people live in the area of Brcko. Thanks to the
two types of geographical relief that can be noticed in the area of brcko, vales and hills, favorable
conditions for agriculture and cattle-breeding exist in it.

Road Communications
Thanks to the quality of its roads and suitable location in relation to other road communications,
Brcko has built up an image of a transit city and important transportation junction in Bosnia and
Herzegovina. When it comes to railway traffic Brcko represents an exit of Bosnia and Herzegovina to
Croatia. The railway connects Brcko with midland and significant industrial capacities of the Tuzla
basin and with the Ploce port and Adriatic Sea.
Climate
Brcko has a moderate continental climate with warm summers and moderately cold winters. Being
situated on the banks of Sava River its reaches its prime in spring and fall when beauties of its
nature are accentuated.
History
As a fortified settlement Brcko was mentioned for the first time in 1526 and 1533. According to some
literary sources, it started developing after 1548 when a road to Tuzla was built. Since March 8, 2000
Brcko has had the status of a disrict in Bosnia and Herzegovina and today it is an example of a
successfully developed community.
Culture
For many centuries now different cultures, traditions and customs, wich have been inherited and
preserved until the present times through the activities of cultural clubs, associations and
institutions, have interlocked in Brcko. Today Brcko is a city where recognized cultural events and
activities take place throughout the year.

Important Buildings
In buildings of historic importance and of contemporary business and trade function one can see old
and modern achievements of human creativeness in Brcko.
Religious Buildings
The multi-religious nature of Brcko District of B&H is embodied in old and modern architecture of the
Orthodox, Islamic and Catholic religious buildings.
Sava River
Sava is an international navigable river. Its port is the only river port in Bosnia and herzegovina of an
international status recognized in 2006. Sava river and its attractions have large tourist potentials
such as sport, recreation, swimming, fishing, picnic, motonautical, etc.

Rural Areas
Rural areas around Brcko maintain architecture, tradition and customs that have been created
throughout centuries. Richness of folklore, traditional dances, gastronomy as well as natural
beauties of rural resorts make way for rural tourism.

Gastronomy
In many Brcko restaurants one can savor variety of traditional specialties of domestic cuisine and
worldwide modern gastronomic food practices.
Cafés
Numerous cafés, clubs and patisseries located in the heart and periphery of the town are perfect
places to party, meet friends and have fun.
University of Economics
Brcko has long tradition in education. In 1883 the School of Trade was established in Brcko (the only
one in B&H). In 1923/24 the Academy of Trade was established in Brcko and in 1963 it was
transformed into the School of Economics. In 1961 the College of Economics and Commerce was
established and since 1976 the University of Economics has been existing in brcko.

Sport and Recreation
Brcko is successful in sports and it has achieved significant results in different sports nationally and
internationally.
Weekend Resorts
There are several locations in Brcko and its vicinity where one can go for picnic, camping and spend
active rest in nature.
Shopping Malls
Brcko has modern shopping malls. There are several mega-markets in its urban area. The modern
shopping center „Arizona“ is located 12 km away from the center Brcko. In 2001 it was the major
investment made in B&H.
Events
Brcko is the city of sports, cultural events and fairs of national and international character.

The Sports Hall
Economics school
The new sports hall was built for the needs of the Economic school, but also for other sports
activities in the Brcko District. Is located in the center city of the street Vaso Pelagic, and at a very
short distance of 4 hotels. Actually walk, saving time and money from the traffic.
By sports hall is easy to reach and close to the sports hall there is a large number of parking spaces
for buses and cars.
With more than 500 seats for spectators in the stands, warm and clean.
On the floor can be placed six tatami, for all disciplines.
In this sports hall held many national and international competitions in different sports, as well as
several international competitions in martial arts.

All applications of competitors and teams have to be done via the web site: sportdata.org
Last day for registration and registration 27 February of 2014. year. and after that date will no longer
be possible to execute your application.
All applications are publicly available and visible on the website sportdata.org
The competition will be completed the same day (the 1st March 2014).
All fights and kata will be held at 6 tatami.
Start of competition is at 9 am.
