GENERAL INFORMATION
Dress Code
Dress code is business casual throughout the Conference, with the exception of the Gala, which will be business or
evening attire (or dress up for the Gala in ‘roaring twenties’ style, if you prefer!).
Weather
The weather in Saskatoon is usually comfortable in September with average high temperatures during the day
between 15 and 20 degrees C, or about 60 to 70 degrees F. Evenings can be cool, and a light coat or jacket is
recommended.
Conference Location
The Conference Trade Show, plenary and concurrent sessions will be held at the Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium
and Convention Center. Signage and final conference material will indicate specific locations at the site. Other
conference events are being held at several locations in downtown Saskatoon. Please check the Conference Agenda
for specific information.
Registration Desk
The Registration Desk will be located on the main level in the Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium and Convention
Center. Please see Conference Policies for days and hours of registration. The Message Center, sponsored by UAB,
will also be situated in the foyer of the Saskatoon Centennial Auditorium and Convention Center.

Transportation
Air Canada is offering Connections 2002 attendees the lowest available fare at the time of booking, with an
additional 5% discount if you book flights at least 60 days prior to the Conference. Some restrictions apply. Quote

In addition, WestJet, Tango, and Northwest Airlines fly into Saskatoon. Sinfonia Travel Group can assist you with
all your travel needs, as well as information on local tourist attractions and general information. It is recommended
that you book your flights as early as possible.
Local Transportation
The Saskatoon Airport is approximately 10 –15 minutes from downtown Saskatoon. All conference hotels are in
the downtown area. Taxi fare will be $10.00 - $15.00.

Only paid RIMS members will be entitled to the member rate.
End dates for Early and Late Registration will be strictly adhered to.
Registration changes or name substitutions received after September 6, 2002 are
subject to an administration fee of $25.00.
Final deadline for Pre-Registration is September 6, 2002.
Students must provide a copy of their student I.D. card when registering.
Cancellation Policy

Requests for refunds or cancellations must be in writing and received by Sinfonia via fax, e-mail or mail postmarked on or before September 6, 2002. Please allow sixty (60) days after the conference for refunds.
Cancellations received and post-marked on or before September 6, 2002 will be subject to a $75
administration fee.
Refund requests (Registration Fee, Guest Ticket or Gala Ticket) received after September 6, 2002 will not
be honored.

On site registration at the Centennial Auditorium and Convention Centre begins Saturday
September 21, 2002.
Delegates must register in person. Registration packages will be released only to the individual whose
name appears on the badge.
Substitution for a pre-registered attendee requires written authorization on corporate letterhead. Business
cards will not be accepted as authorization.
Registered delegates, guests, exhibitors & speakers must wear their Conference badges for access to all
Conference functions.
