*The author of ALL THE WORLD and the illustrator of A VISITOR FOR
BEAR stir their talents together in a mix as sweet as spiced apples in a
buttery crust!*
Posy, Megan, and Mae have always been the best of friends -- but now Posy has
to move away. Only their favorite activity can comfort the girls: baking pie! And
when they realize they can host a good-pie party instead of a good-bye party, the
sad situation becomes a sweet gathering for their entire community.
THE GOOD-PIE PARTY celebrates good friends, good memories, and the joy of
the just-right good-byes.
Praise for THE GOOD-PIE PARTY:
"The pen-and-ink and watercolor drawings, soft in palette but with
sharp angles and lines, illustrate the shifts in Posy's mood. This sweet,
tender read is a good addition for those looking for books about
moving." - School Library Journal
"ink drawings with watercolor washes—portray characters as distinct
individuals who are as expressive as dancers in their movements and
gestures. Libraries may have dozens of picture books on moving, but
few acknowledge the child’s experience with such creativity and
compassion." - Booklist

Over in the Wetlands: A Hurricane-on-theBayou Story
by Caroline Starr Rose, illustrated by Rob Dunlavey
Proprietor: Pippin Properties (illustration only)
US publisher: Schwartz & Wade
First publication: July 2015
Product line: Picture Book
40 pages
*Published in time for the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, here is a
beautiful read-aloud about animal families preparing for an impending storm
in their bayou habitat.*
Journey to the Louisiana wetlands and watch as all the animals of the bayou
experience one of nature’s most dramatic and awe-inspiring events: a hurricane.
The animals prepare—swimming for safer seas, finding cover in dens, and nestling
their young close to protect them. During the height of the storm, even the trees
react, cracking and moaning in the wind. At last, the hurricane yawns and rests,
and animals come out to explore their world anew.
Praise for OVER IN THE WETLANDS:
"Rose focuses on the actions of wetlands animals as they react to the approach,
arrival, and departure of a hurricane. Her poetic text avoids the temptation to
follow the familiar "Over in the Meadow" formula by varying rhythmic patterns
to mirror the storm's energy...Dunlavey's mixed-media illustrations reflect this
trajectory, growing darker as the storm intensifies. Double-page spreads of
bayou landscapes will capture and hold listeners' attention...Even collections far
from the Gulf Coast will benefit from adding this effective portrayal of how
weather affects the natural landscape and the animals that live there." - School
Library Journal
Rob Dunlavey
Rob Dunlavey’s whimsical artwork can also be seen in several
major children’s museums in the US (Miami, Long Island, and
New York City). His editorial illustrations have appeared in many
American magazines and newspapers and his fine art has been
exhibited in the United States and France. He lives in
Massachusetts with his wife, two daughters, two frisky cats, and a
