TONIGHT'S STORYLINES:
The undefeated Minnesota Wild, one of two NHL teams without a loss this season, takes on the Anaheim Ducks tonight in game two of its three-game road trip.
With its 2-1 overtime victory at Los Angeles Wednesday, Minnesota claimed a franchise-record sixth straight victory. The Wild had won five straight once prior,
during a five-game January strectch in 2006.
Only eight teams in NHL history have won seven or more consecutive games to start a season. The Wild had never previously won consecutive games to start a
season before its current six-game streak.
The Wild have allowed a total of 11 goals in five games this season, fewer than all but one NHL team. Only Dallas (10) has allowed fewer.
Minnesota ranks third in the NHL in both power play and penalty kill. The Wild has converted on 10 of its 36 power play opportunities (27.8%) this season, while
opponents have converted on just 3 of 31 chances (90.3 kill %).
Of Minnesota's six wins this season, two have been overtime wins, two have been shootout victories and two have been regulation victories. Five of the team's
wins have been by one goal, while the other was won by five.
Pavol Demitra is the lone Wild player to notch a point in each game this season and carries a six-game assist streak into tonight's contest.
Demitra (1-7=8) is tied with Brian Rolston (5-3=8) for the team-lead with eight points in six games this season.
Manny Fernandez enters tonight's game with five wins and a 1.63 goals-against-average, each of which are tied for the league lead. Fernandez also ranks fifth in
the league with a .943 save percentage and has allowed just one goal in the past eight periods of play, stopping 75 of the past 76 shots he's faced.
Anaheim Ducks – Minnesota won the 2005-06 season series against Anaheim 3-1-0, including a 1-1-0 mark at Honda Center…The Wild leads the all-time series
9-7-4 and is 4-5-1 in Anaheim…Todd White (2-4=6) led Minnesota in scoring against Anaheim last season with six points…Pavol Demitra has recorded 24
points (11-13=24) in 32 career games against the Ducks…Manny Fernandez went 3-0-0 with a 1.62 GAA last season and is 6-4-2 with one shutout and a 1.84
GAA in 12 career contests against Anaheim…Chris Pronger collected five points (1-4=5) against the Wild last season…Ryan Getzlaf (2-2=4) and Teemu
Selanne (1-3=4) added four points each…Selanne has scored 16 points (7-9=16) in 23 career games against Minnesota…Jean-Sebastien Giguere went 1-1-1
with a 3.18 GAA in 2005-06 and is 6-6-3 with three shutouts and a 2.12 GAA in 15 lifetime meetings.

Minnesota Wild Notes
A GRAND TIME: Brian Rolston's first-period goal Wednesday at Los Angeles was the 1000th regular season goal in Wild history. Below is a break-down of
how the first 1000 goals in Wild history were scored:
At Home: 549 Season 1: 168
On Road: 451 Season 2: 195
In First Period: 293 Season 3: 198
In Second Period: 358 Season 4: 188
In Third Period: 327 Season 5: 231
In Wins: 627 Season 6: 20
In Losses: 264
In Ties: 109
ON A ROLL: Brian Rolston led the Wild with five short-handed goals last season and ranks third among active NHL players with 31 career short-handed goals.
Rolston tied a career-high with seven game-winning goals last season and added three shootout-deciding goals for the Wild, giving him the deciding tally in 26
percent of Minnesota victories in 2005-06. Rolston's 2005-06 campaign was the most prolific of his career, as he set a new franchise record with 79 points.
MR. CLUTCH: Todd White has two goals in six games this season and each have come in clutch fashion. White's first goal came in overtime of the team's 3-2
victory against Colorado in the season opener and his second gave the Wild a 5-4 lead in the third period of Minnesota's 6-5 victory against Nashville in game two.
This continues a trend White started last season, during his first campaign in Minnesota. To date, of White's 21 goals in a Wild sweater, 12 have come in the third
period or overtime.
WELCOME ABOARD: The Minnesota Wild welcomes several new faces to the fold for the 2006-07 season. Among them are established NHL veterans:
* D Keith Carney, a 15th-year pro who entered the season ranked seventh among active NHL defensemen in plus/minus ratio with a career +134.
* C Pavol Demitra, a veteran of more than 600 NHL games whose eight straight 20-goal seasons is the seventh-longest active streak in the NHL.
* D Kim Johnsson, a veteran of six NHL seasons who twice won the Philadelphia Flyers' Barry Ashbee trophy as the team's outstanding defenseman.
* RW Mark Parrish, a former NHL All-Star who enntered the season with 303 points in 518 NHL games, including 58 multi-point games and four hat tricks.
Combined, the four-some adds 2,448 games of NHL experience to the Wild roster to go along with 1,278 points (505-773=1278) and a cumulative career plus/
minus of + 220.
THE GIFT OF GAB: Marian Gaborik entered the 2006-07 season as the franchise leader with 274 career points (134-140=274) coming off a season in which he
established a new franchise record for goals in a season (38) despite missing 17 games due to injury. It was the third 30-goal season for Gaborik, who never went
more than three straight games without a point last season. Gaborik has seven points (4-3=7) in six games for the Wild this season.
THE MAIN MAN(NY): Manny Fernandez enters his first season as the Wild's sole No. 1 goaltender after a season in which he became the first net-minder in
team history to win 30 games. The 10-year veteran was between the pipes for all but eight of the team's 38 wins last season and accrued a 2.29 goals-againstaverage and a .919 save percentage, ranking sixth in the NHL in both categories.
FOSTERING SUCCESS: Kurtis Foster led all Wild defensemen last season with 10 goals and 28 points. He also ranked second in the NHL in goals scored by a
rookie defenseman and was tied for fifth in points after being recalled from Houston on November 19. The rookie also established a new franchise record for goals
scored at home by a defenseman, as nine of his 10 goals were scored at Xcel Energy Center. Foster has three assists in three games this season.
AND THEN THERE WERE THREE: Three members of the Wild's inaugural season team return for year six: Manny Fernandez, Marian Gaborik and Wes
Walz were each members of the inaugural squad.
BROADCAST NOTE: The Minnesota Wild posted a 2.5 rating (41,638 households) for the home opener on FSN North. That number marks a strong start for the
