DEVIL NEWS
Spirit of Sport Award
The Spirit of Sports award Program was introduced by the
Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation as a way to
encourage and reward fair play and sportsmanship in
under 16 to 18 competitive sport.
The program also aims to improve the friendly relationship
between local youngsters and Police.
Players from competing teams are judged every week by
the officiating umpires on their playing fairness,
sportsmanship and overall attitude. The player who scores
the most points each week is presented with the Spirit of
Sport medal and a framed certificate by a member of
Victoria Police. A player can only win the medal ONCE per
season.
Points are accumulated during the season and the player
who earns the highest number of points will be named
player of the year.
