Whether it was listening to tunes on the car radio, via
Pandora or YouTube or a myriad of other ways, music
played an integral role in the lives of many.
“My favorite kind of music is alternative music because,
for me, it’s easy to relate to me. It’s also easy to jam out
to, and it puts me in a better mood,” said freshman
Jonathan VanWyk.
For sophomore Katie Bennett, music is important.
“Music gives me a way to express emotions without
words,” said Bennett.
Participating in school music groups was also a way
music was a part of students’ lives.
“Music and singing always puts me in a good mood! I
always feel more calm when I listen to music. Going to
choir every day puts me in a better mood because I get
to do what I love to do ... sing,” said freshman Kiara
Bradley.
Some students enjoy music through different genres.
“My favorite genre is rock. When I was younger my
mom would blast 80’s rock music around our house, and I
fell in love with it,” said freshman Maggie Mortimer.
Songs all around the world have different emotions to
them. Some songs can be energetic, while others can be
more mellow.
“Music has had a major impact on my life. No matter
what mood you are in, music is there for you; music
always makes me happy,” said junior Greta Putnam.

Bucket lists contain travels, goals
People choose to create bucket lists for many reasons.
Some may want to make them so they know what they
want to do before they die or just for fun with their
friends.
“I wanna go to Las Vegas for a motocross; that’s on
my bucket list. I also want to go to the Super Bowl,”
said senior Derrick Akers.
“I made a bucket list to plan out life goals so I have
something to look forward to in the future,” said freshman Elisabeth Jansen.

Buck·et list noun (informal): 1. a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or
accomplished during their lifetime.
Bucket lists are simply “What do you want to do before
you die?” They range from the typical “go skydiving”
to traveling to meeting a celebrity.
Sophomore Lauren Kingery learned of a bucket lists
from a movie.
“I would love to go to Africa and help people there,”
said Kingery.
