Comprehensive guided city tour including Corcovado and Cristo de Redentor, Sugar
Loaf, Copacabana beach and Ipanema beach. Rio de Janeiro is an incredible
combination of mountains, sea, beaches, architecture and fun, and one of the most
beautiful cities in Latin America. It is the icon of Brazil. Free time in the afternoon to
enjoy the beaches and the hotel neighborhood.

Guided tour of Rio’s Botanical gardens featuring one of the most complete collections of
tropical and sub-tropical plants in the world. Depart to the Southwest and the Serra da
Mantiqueira (Mantiqueira Mountains), the highest mountain range in Brazil. Arrive
Campos do Jordao, a mountain resort city with unique landscaped properties and parks.
Hotel check-in. Free time to explore the neighborhoods and parks.

Wednesday 22 October
Breakfast and Lunch
Depart to Sao Luiz do Paraitinga. Tour the Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar. This is
Brazil’s best example of an undisturbed but accessible Atlantic rainforest. Guided
botanical walking tour in the park. Continue southeast to Campinas, in the heart of the
most productive and highly developed agricultural part of Sao Paulo State. Hotel checkin. Time for shopping.

Thursday 23 October
Breakfast and Lunch
Guided visit of the biggest vegetable, flower and fruit market in Brazil. Here, producers
sell an average of 10,000 tons of produce per day to wholesalers, distributors and final
consumers. Comprehensive tour of the area’s major sugar and ethanol plant. Interview
management about their technology, and Brazil’s role in producing 38 percent of the
world’s sugar and 16 billion liters of ethanol. Return to Hotel. Free evening.

Friday 24 October
Breakfast and Lunch
Depart to Holambra, famous as the city of flowers and a well preserved Dutch culture.
Visit the flower market, rose gardens and greenhouses. Head east to Ourinhos. Visit a
leading retail garden store. Continue to Londrina, a major agricultural market town of
interior Parana state. Hotel check-in. Free evening.

Meet with landscape design company. Visit a large home supply store and see their
retail services and products for home gardeners/landscapers. Depart to Campo Morau.
Visit commercial and private landscape sites. Visit retail plant nursery.

Continue to Foz do Iguaçu, one of the greatest wonders of South America. Hotel checkin. Free evening to stroll the lively streets and enjoy other visitors from all over the world.

Monday 27 October
Breakfast and Dinner
Visit the Itaipu hydroelectric power plant, supplying 25 percent of Brazil’s and 90 percent
of Paraguay’s power. Complete tour of the facility. Visit the Brazil side of Iguaçu Falls,
including a four wheel drive guided safari, and an excursion in a powered rubber dinghy
under the falls and into the “Devil’s Throat”. Follow the trails to the visitor’s center. Time
for photography and shopping. Return to hotel. In the evening, enjoy special Brazilian
