riana Singers - Choral Society
Weddings and other events
The Oriana Singers frequently provides the music
for Weddings in Tunbridge Wells and nearby
towns and villages. We have sung recently at
weddings in Cranbrook, Southborough, Rusthall,
Frant, Mayfield, Ringmer, Ide Hill and Brenchley.
We normally provide 8 singers, musical director
and organist. We can also provide a soloist if
required. Larger churches might need 12 singers.
We know the local churches well, and can advise
you on the size of choir needed to produce a full
sound for the music you want.
We will lead the hymns, perform music of your
choice during the signing of the register
and - unless you are using your local organist provide entry and exit music.
What does it cost?
We are not a commercial choir but naturally we
make a charge to cover our expenses. For a choir
of 8 singers and the Musical Director the likely
cost is about £300. We charge more if we are
providing the organist or a soloist, and for
Weddings which are more than 10 miles from
Tunbridge Wells.

O
A warm welcome to The Oriana Singers.
The Oriana Singers regularly provides the
choir for services at leading English
Cathedrals. We have sung at every
Anglican Cathedral in the country, also in
Wales and Northern Ireland. Based in
Tunbridge Wells, we are one of the most
active choirs in the Kent and Sussex area.
We sing music from the 16th Century to
the present day, with a strong interest in
Renaissance Church music by composers
such as Byrd, Tallis and Palestrina. The
music is carefully chosen for each service,
wedding or concert and we aim for a
thoughtful and musical presentation. We
pride ourselves on achieving high standards
in just six rehearsals whilst maintaining a
relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We are
often joined for particular events, by young
singers who are interested in broadening
their experience of English Church music.
New singers are welcome. We rehearse in
Rusthall. There is no audition but good
sight-reading ability is important.
Cathedral Visits & Weekends
The Oriana Singers comprises about 23 members. In a year, there
are usually three weekend visits where the choir provides music for
the Cathedral Services. In addition, there are Day Visits, either on
Saturday or Sunday. Since October 2010, the choir has visited
Bath Abbey, Westminster Abbey, St. Alban’s Abbey, Guildford
Cathedral and St. Martin-in-the-Fields
