EDITOR’S LETTER
Our business’s economic landscape has
changed at an alarming rate as a result of
rising tendencies for group purchasing (due
to new communication technologies) and the
globalisation of needs and services.
The three founding brands leading this
project are:
OKAÏDI (inspired by the Scouting movement)
OBAÏBI (inspired by the Cubs) OXYBUL éveil
et jeux (inspired by Montessori).
We need to be agile and reactive, and support
people over the long term if our financial and
social project is to be sustainable.
To carry the essence of this ethos over
to the ÏDKIDS community, the OKWORLD
foundation is changing its name to become
the "ÏDKIDS Fondation d’entreprise" while
preserving its pledge: To use economic
resources to help children grow up with a
sense of belonging to become responsible
adults who inspire others.
We need to draw on the strength of our
roots - our beliefs, values and experience;
and the ambition of our dreams - our vision,
dedication and creativity.
We also need to pave the way for all this to be
passed on to future generations so they can
confront the challenges that await.
For almost 20 years, our ambition has
always been:
"TO WORK TO MAKE A BETTER WORLD FOR
GROWING CHILDREN"
Our 10-year VISION project is to unite all
our staff, customers and partners in one
place where they can find our "ACTIVIST"
(RESSEBraC) and "BENEFICIAL" Brands
(to help children develop).
The name of this new global platform is:
ÏDKIDS (an Activist identity and ideas which
are Beneficial to "KIDS")
Its charter of commitment will be "ACT FOR
KIDS", a hallmark which guarantees the
promise of our original mission: working to
help children.
This is the mission the Foundation
pursues, by supporting different initiatives,
particularly projects aimed to protect
vulnerable children and promote education
from an early age.
To implement these projects, the Foundation
creates lasting partnerships with NGOs such
as Interaide, who have front line involvement
with the needs of the populations in the
countries our group manufactures in.
It also supports local non-profit organisations
in France who work to help the community,
with the help of employees who volunteer to
take on an ambassador-witness role in the
schemes undertaken.
Consequently, the foundation reaches
out to the social responsibility of all
our stakeholders: customers, partners,
shareholders, suppliers, organisations and
employees.
Jean Duforest
Chairman of the ÏDKIDS Fondation d’entreprise
About us
Okworld was set up in 2003, and became a Fondation d’entreprise
in 2007.
It stemmed from ÏDGROUP’s wish (Okaïdi, Obaïbi, Jacadi, OXYBUL
éveil et jeux, ÏDKIDS) to combine human and economic interests to
achieve sustainable growth.
Child development, child protection and children’s rights are the
essence of the foundation’s initiatives.
The foundation is funded by the company’s profits, which means
that our brands and employees all contribute to the ventures that
Okworld supports.
Where we operate: as a Fondation d’entreprise, Okworld supports
projects in the countries where the ÏDGROUP brands manufacture
and distribute their products.

“Early learning activities have
been set up for 0-3 year olds to
nurture the mother and child bond ”
For women in the slums, life is about hand-to-mouth survival, and most of them don’t
know how to stimulate their young children. That’s why early learning activities for
0-3 year olds have been set up by a number of local organisations to nurture the mother
and child bond. Okworld has been supporting this project in India for 10 years. After
originating in Pune, it’s now being set up in Mumbai, where there is the
biggest need.
In parallel, social assistance is provided for families who have left the shanty towns to be
rehoused in high rise buildings, to help them adapt to their new environment and learn
how to behave in the communal areas, for example.
Le BICE and

The period from birth to three years is crucial for a

The organisation "Arts et Développement" specialises in giving underprivileged

cultural outings because "Museums aren’t out of date" and holds an exhibition in the
community once a year to display the children’s artwork. The organisation also
shares its expertise with the local social centre, which they work
closely with, so that similar schemes can be run on a permanent
basis. Okworld has been supporting the organisation for 2 years and this project is

This initiative was able to off the ground as a result of a social business: Okaïdi
collects surplus production from a supplier partner and sells it at very low
prices to "Ladies" from the Grameen distribution organisation. Okaïdi funds the

Having met many families who no longer knew how to cope with their children dropping

des Cités (inner city oasis) organises extra tuition sessions 4 times a week as well as
activities during the holidays. The organisation’s members have chosen to live in an
inner city environment so they frequent the people who live there every day. In 2014,
the Okworld foundation decided to help
the organisation with a programme to
prevent young people dropping out of
school, enabling them to support ten extra
children. Quentin Poignant from Jacadi
attended one of the sessions: "I got the

The Coup de Pouce Clé - meaning helping hand - method invented by a researcher at
the INRP (French institute of educational research) is aimed at 1st year primary school
pupils who struggle with learning to read, particularly when their difficulties result from
a lack of support at home for children living in underprivileged areas. During the club
sessions, reading assistants trained by the Coup de Pouce organisation and remunerated
by local authorities, help children get to grips with reading using fun and
personalised learning methods.

Clowns at a hospital in

PLACE: FRANCE, Bondy
NUMBER OF BENEFICIARIES: 2,500
Situated in Bondy, in the Seine-Saint-Denis department just outside
Paris, Jean Verdier hospital lies right in the centre of an ill-reputed
multicultural area where employment and community problems are
rife. This means the General Paediatrics unit treats patients of many
different nationalities. So comedians from Rire Médecin are specially
trained to deal with all the different cultures they come across, and
they play an important role. They help children and their families
to fit into the hospital environment. Play and music open
up channels of communication other than language and encourage a
dialogue between cultures.

Every year the clowns organise almost 100 play days in the
paediatrics department and make over 2 800 visits to
children, parents and caregivers. They are there every Monday
and Wednesday, and this regularity - implemented as a result of Okworld’s
contribution - is an essential aspect of what Le Rire Médecin does.

Family problems, handicap, illness... a child can find
themselves cut off from society at any point in their life.
Many organisations are dedicated to putting the smile back
on the faces of children in hospitals, organising activities
for disabled children, or helping children with difficult home
lives. The Okworld foundation supports these projects,
sponsored by our group’s employees.
"It is a financial partnership but it is also, more importantly, a
heartfelt pledge on behalf of the Okworld foundation
team and the ÏDGROUP employees. Thanks to the group’s
generosity and strong involvement, dozens of autistic children
receive visits twice a month from the bright and cheerful Mr & Mrs
Dreams, the organisation’s professional clowns. With their fun
and caring approach, they bring laughter, fun and surprise to the
children. Very gently, using songs, rhymes, soft toys, or finger
puppets, they gradually manage to communicate with the children."
Making hospital stays for children
less frightening
For 20 years, SPARADRAP has been informing
children and parents about treatments,
hospital stays, pain management and the role
of families. In 2014, the organisation decided
to hold regular sessions at Trousseau
hospital in Paris and Creteil hospital so
they could offer better support for children, their
families and healthcare professionals. Okworld
has been supporting this organisation for 2 years.
"As an employee at the company, I was delighted to be able to sponsor this wonderful
organisation. We have no idea how common this type of problem is, and we only
realise it when it affects us personally. I got the chance to go along to one of their sessions at
the Trousseau hospital in Paris. That’s when I really understood everything this organisation does
for families with a child in hospital. A lot of parents are sorry that they didn’t know about this
organisation sooner, as it could have helped and advised them when their child was in hospital."

The organisation arranges sponsorships in France for children living
in difficult family circumstances or who have been placed in care.
The sponsors, who are assisted by the organisation, build long-term
relationships with the children to bring them emotional and practical
stability. And there is high demand: in the Nord department, 73
children are on a waiting list for a sponsor. The sponsors
are all volunteers, although the resources required for professionals
to supervise them and monitor the children and families amount to
€1,200 per child. In 2014, the organisation was able to introduce 35 new
sponsors in the Nord: Okworld funding paid for 4 of them.

by the organisation have led to a register of sex offenders being introduced, a reform of medical

Christmas presents for all
Launched by EDHEC business school students 18 years ago,
the organisation Le Père Noël est-il un Rocker ? stems from a
quirky concept. They organise concerts, but instead of buying
a ticket, concertgoers buy a toy. These toys are then given to
underprivileged children in Lille and the surrounding area
over Christmas. OXYBUL éveil et jeux has been supporting the
organisation since 2013 by donating toys. Okworld has been
involved with the project for 2 years and in 2014 staff from the
procurement managing department helped the students on the
day they distributed the toys. The concerts attracted
over 6,000 people and 1,500 children received a
