Cuthbertson Band
Bulletin
November 10, 2014
Volume 5, Issue 8
Mrs. E’s E-News
From the Desk of Mr. Ebert…
Cuthbertson’s high school students presented a stirring
fall concert on Thursday. It’s hard not to get excited
when you hear the opening notes of “Stars and Stripes
Forever!” What a great way to honor our veterans.
And, don’t your students clean up nicely in their concert
wear? Thank you to Carolyn Griffin and her uniform
team for making this happen - from fitting to hemming
to cleaning and all the organization in between!
I encourage all families to purchase a $30 Cuthbertson
Band Boosters family membership. In addition to free
admission for immediate family members to our concerts, your membership dollars are used by the Boosters
to support the high school & middle school bands.
Cuthbertson’s Cavs won the Southern Conference football title and host Ashbrook this Friday in the first
round of the playoffs. Marching band reports at 6:15
pm.
Remember, the Monroe Holiday Parade (Sunday, November 23) and the Waxhaw Holiday Parade (Sunday,
December 14) are required marching band activities.
All marching band students (winds, percussion & guard)
must attend. Every student must have a Santa hat for
the parades.
Fundraisers: Yankee Candle and FunPasta sales
are winding down. All order forms for both are
due this Friday, no exceptions.
Cuthbertson’s indoor Winterguard and Percussion programs continue to grow in size every year. Please consider
ordering holiday greenery to support the needs of these groups.
All items are direct from the good folks at Powers Tree Farm in
Ashe County, NC.
Holiday Bazaar: Speaking of the holidays, the Cuthbertson Holiday Bazaar returns on Saturday, December 13, with lots of new &
familiar features! Santa will be there. There will be small groups
playing & singing throughout the day. There will be a Bake Sale,
and maybe a movie, too! Stay tuned for more details.
Winterguard Tryout Nights: Students interested in joining or
continuing with middle school Winterguard will meet for an info
session this Thursday, November 13, at 4:00 pm in the CMS Band
Room. HS Winterguard will have their call out meeting on Monday, November 17.
MS Concert Update: The first middle school concert of the season is coming up soon. Make plans now to join in the festivities on
Tuesday, December 16, starting at 7:30 pm in the CHS Auditorium. We’re encouraging everyone to park in the football stadium
parking lot and use the back entrance to the high school, saving
those parking spots in front of the high school for those who need
close access. Every middle school band student must have a concert polo and black pants, shoes & socks. No exceptions.

Concert Parking at the High School
New for this year! All band concert attendees should park
in the south end of the football stadium parking lot, closest
to the high school, and enter the building through the patio
area in the back of the high school. Please reserve the limited number of parking spots at the front of the high school
for those with limited mobility. Thank you for your willingness to try something new!
