BELGRADE – The Serbian government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption and is putting
maximum efforts in countering the scourge that was spreading at an alarming pace in the last two decades, due
to specific historical circumstances and ties between ruling elites and business circles, Serbian Parliament

At the Serbian parliament, Stefanovic declared open a regional seminar on mechanisms that parliaments have at

their disposal in the fight against corruption, which is bringing together 30 parliamentarians from European states.
The ruling majority in the Serbian parliament recognized corruption as the most dangerous threat to the rule of law
and stability in the society, and it will do everything to make Serbia a country of prosperity that is safe for
investments, he underscored.
Serbia is successfully implementing the international anti-corruption acts, Stefanovic said, and stressed that the
parliament adopted a set of anti-corruption laws, including the Public Procurement Law which, in his opinion, is yet
to yield real results.
The Serbian parliament adopted an anti-corruption strategy in July, and became a member of the Global
Organization of Parliamentarians against Corruption this year, he noted.
Stefanovic said that the anti-corruption measures have the highest priority in Serbia’s EU accession talks, which
has been confirmed by the analysis of the reforms that have been carried out up to this point and an extent to
