Lake Como Milan 2014
Lake Como ~ Milan 2014 By David Odaka Grand Hotel Tremezzo • I just returned from a business meeting in Lake Como in late September; what a wonderful time of year to go! The weather was still very warm, but the crowds were gone and the area felt magical. I stayed at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, an amazing family-run hotel. I thought it was perfect: the service was impeccable, the rooms were renovated and the food was excellent. • All of this was accomplished in a very relaxed, fun, younger vibe. I would highly recommend this hotel in Lake Como, and depending on the ambiance you desire, in certain ways this property can be an alternative to the famous Villa d’Este. Grand Hotel Tremezzo The View from my Room Explore Lake Como via boat • During my free time, I explored the lake on a very sexy wooden speed boat, then visited the town of Bellagio for some shopping, and had lunch at the Iconic restaurant Locanda del Isola Comacina, which is on the island in the middle of the lake and has been serving the same menu since 1945. It’s a long pre-fixe lunch, but an experience all should have at least once. Milan • On my departure, I spent one night in Milan at the Park Hyatt. It still feels fresh and impressive, and is in a perfect location near La Scala, the Duomo and shopping. The restaurant renovation is complete and the bar is currently being redone, but the hotel is looking great and I would still highly recommend it. Ask me about some great trendy spots I discovered for lunches and dinners. • Duomo, Milan Delta and Emirates Airlines were both amazing, as service and product were both top shelf.
