From the General Manager
Ladies and Gentlemen:
As our fiscal year comes to an end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you
all for your support throughout the entire year. We have had the most active December
in several years and have increased the number of members who have attended our
holiday events over 25% from last year.
As you have read in the previous letters, banquet business and membership are the key
drivers in any private club’s success. We are no exception! In regard to banquets,
November, December and January have been tremendous months, exceeding all
expectations! We expect to come very close to achieving an extremely assertive
budget of $433,000 for this fiscal year ending March 31, 2013. This was only possible
due to your continued support in either hosting an event or being a member sponsor
for an event. Please continue your efforts!
In regard to membership, again many thanks to those who have brought in new
members to our CCC family. I am thrilled to let you know we welcomed 49 new/
returning members over the past 9 months.
With the end of our fiscal year approaching, it is again time to elect new board
members. It is my distinct pleasure to thank the following board members who will be
completing their terms in March; Robert Flowers, Leo Berard, Walter Calhoun and
Bart Middlebrooks. These gentlemen have worked many hours and given so much of
their time in order to ensure the continued success of our Club. With the economic
environment in which we are living today, that has been no easy task. It has been a
pleasure working side by side with each of them for the past 3 years and, again, please
join me in thanking them for their outstanding service.
On a sad note, we will say goodbye to our Assistant Golf Professional, Scott Rich. He
will be moving to Utah in February. Scott has been responsible for assisting Brian
with the Jr. Golf Program as well as with tournaments. He has brought a fresh
perspective to many events and programs, thus we are very thankful for the time that
Scott has been with us. Please stop by the shop and wish him all the best with his new
endeavors.

Words from William,
Upcoming Golf Events
Well, it’s the middle of winter but you never know if it’s going
to be 37° or 73°. So far it has been a mild winter and I hope it
continues to be above average in the temperature department.
We are in the process of completing our winter golf maintenance
projects. We have planted another 25 long leaf pine trees to
replace trees that have been lost to lightning strikes, drought and
beetles.
We will be refurbishing sand in the bunkers. New sand will be
added where needed and a uniform coat will be applied to all
bunkers. In conjunction with cleaning up the last of the falling
leaves, we will be adding new pine straw mulch to all of our
shrub beds and all wooded and non-turf areas.
As mowing begins this spring, we will be re-contouring some of
the fairways as well as providing more fairway landing area for
the golfers who don’t hit it as far as some of our best players.
We hope to make a more enjoyable experience fo all of our
golfing members.
Thank you,

From Your Tennis Pro...!!!
Well, we have survived another end of the world prediction; this
time by the Mayans. So let’s look forward to another great year
of tennis. Happy 2013! I know it’s a little late, but the Clubber
release schedule threw me off a bit.
Mixed Up Davis Cup
February 22
Davis Cup has started! We want to do the CCC Version.

2012 was a great year with growth in our junior programs,
winning the Evert Cup, and having the best Club Championship
ever. We helped host the Southern Sectional Senior Tournament
which let us see some familiar faces of local players who won

St. Patrick’s Round Robin
706-323-9116
January brought the Winter Chill Tournament where CCC had
good representation again with a few winners. Marianna Swift
won the 10s and Betsy Blanchard won the 12s. Further results
are listed below.
Our tri-level event was our most recent outing. We had 24
players and lots of fun on a warm January afternoon. There was
a great mix of levels and even the new face of Terrell VanIngen.
Of course Adult League has started again and Mixed League
came to a close. Thanks to John Anderson and Steven and Mary
Allen Tondee for captaining the 7.0 and 6.0 mixed teams.
