november scraproom news: be inspired by
November is such a great month – sandwiched between Halloween and Christmas. It features the
year’s best family-friendly holiday and the start of all of our Christmas preparations. Be sure to keep
your camera handy this month and remember to take some photos of things and traditions that you’d
normally take for granted or buzz right through. Why not print out a few of these photos in wallet
size and create a scrapbook page filled with the things that make November so special – and how
about “GRATITUDE” for a title. We all have so much to be grateful for, and as scrapbookers, we have
a creative way to share our memories and our gratitude with those who matter the most to us.

Be Inspired to Organize
Chaos to Creativity: Organize Your Scrap Space – Kits
(By Shawnna Samples)
This month we will focus on organizing our kits. If you are like me, some months go by and you
realize you didn’t get a chance to play with all four TSR Kits, so you store the untouched ones and
even those that were partially used.
We need a system in place that will enable us to easily locate those kits. A few options would be to
store them upright on a shelf, in vertical cropper hoppers, or even banker boxes (you could spray
paint or decoupage the box to match it to your space).
Once you have decided “where” to store your kits, we need to move on to “how” to store them. You
might choose to organize them by:
• Month of Release
• Manufacturer
• Color
• Theme
Whichever method you choose just be sure it is functional for you. Remember that this whole process
is to streamline your scrap space. The way that you structure your scrap space should make it easier
for you to scrap and easier to clean up as well.
Last but not least, I leave you with an Inspirational ScrapRoom photo:

Be Inspired to Step Up Your Design!
(By Deb Wisinski)
Sometimes, when scrapbooking, less is more. But, other times, more is more! This month, I’m showing you
two versions of one basic two-page design. The first two-page layout has all of the necessary elements for
good scrapbook design. The layout is balanced, grounded, and eye-pleasing. I’ve included clear photos in a
sequence, along with a two-page title and coordinating embellishments. If you are going for a clean look and
prefer a more simple style, then this design style would be all you’d need.
However, if you find yourself feeling the need to “step it up” with just a little bit more, then you might want to
try a few of these products and techniques.
*Mat your photos with a coordinating colored cardstock and group several photos together for a cohesive look.
*Add die-cut edged patterned paper as another layer to the layout.
*Add another layer of embellishments to the layout. (I used layered flowered on the edges of the photos to
help frame the photo collage.)
*Add 3-D embellishments on top of flatter sticker and die-cut embellishments.
*Add tiny alphabet stickers as journaling along the edge of a border element for added interest.
*Add machine stitching or pen stitching around the edges of the patterned paper as a great way to frame your
layout.

9. Add chipboard embellishments to the lower right of the matted photo, overlapping both the photo and the “Hi” title

**Alphabets and other items used for Titles and Journaling are not always included in the monthly kit. Substitute something suitable
from your own stash or print something up on your computer! Our Recipe Card layouts and directions also sometimes include “common
scrapbooking staple items” such as brads, buttons, mounting cardstock and ribbon that can be easily substituted with something from
your stash for that little extra “zing” on your pages if desired.
