Pink Panther Alert!
Our smaller classroom Pink Panthers (Stringbean Beanie,Tailless, and Pinky)
are anxious to start visiting your homes. Starting next Friday, September 13,
three lucky class members will be bringing one of the little guys home for some
family adventures. Students will have until the following Wednesday to show
their Pink Panther around and write a story about one exciting adventure he had
on his visit.
We have been discussing what elements make a good story in our class.
Students will be given a planning sheet to sketch and/or outline their ideas as a
prewriting activity. Of course, students can use lots of imagination and humor in
their stories. Kids remember: your story is NOT in the realistic fiction genre; it’s
fantasy, so just about anything goes. You may also take pictures, videos, or
make drawings to go with your story, but you must turn in a written story. The
prewrite and story are due on Wednesday, September 18 when you return your
little houseguest. Please bring the little guys back on time, so our classmates
can take them home.
Students will get to share their stories with their class. They will get to take
home their stories in their writing portfolio at the end of the year.
