Flagship Events (attendance is 300 to 500)
State of the County
For over 10 years, the Howard Chamber has partnered with the County Executive on the annual the State of
the County. This open forum that provides close to 500 attendees the opportunity to hear directly updates on
the County's fiscal and development status. The Howard County Executive provides guests with an overview of
previous year accomplishments and sheds light on year-to-come goals and priorities.
Signature Event
The Chamber’s Signature Event, which includes presentation of the annual Awards for Chamber Excellence (ACE),
has become a can’t-miss evening in Howard County. In addition to enjoying a fabulous dinner, cocktails and
socializing with friends, guests are entertained by a nationally recognized headline speaker/entertainer. In the
past, the Chamber has welcomed political pundits Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson, newsman Sam Donaldson and
television writer Carol Leifer.
Cyber 7.0 Conference
The annual Cyber Conference provides businesses with the latest information about cyber security challenges and
solutions from high-ranking industry and government officials. It is also a valuable networking opportunity where
business leaders connect informally and through pre-arranged, targeted meet-up sessions with cyber-oriented
contractors and agencies.

Economic Forecast Breakfast
The Economic Forecast Breakfast in December invites economist Anirban Basu of Sage Policy
Group, to share his overview of economic conditions and pressing business issues as well as look
ahead to the coming year in business.
Jingle Mingle Holiday Party
The Holiday Party is the Chamber’s annual holiday extravaganza and helps to kick off of the
annual holiday season. This event combines all the benefits of networking in a festive, seasonal
atmosphere. Join in and sponsor one of the Chamber’s most well attended events. There is
something for any and every budget.
Legislative Policy Series
This series allows members of the business community an opportunity to interact directly Howard
County Delegation members on the prospective policy and related outcomes from the most
recent legislative session. Chamber members are provided an opportunity for public discourse
with elected officials, and a forum to present the concerns of the business community to our
legislators.
Member Luncheons
Five member luncheons interspersed throughout the year provide a venue for members to learn
about important issues and gain insight from highly regarded speakers. Each year, this series
begins with the Howard County Executive’s State of the County address. In May, the member
luncheon is the Chamber’s annual meeting, which features the induction of a new Board Chair
and recognition of outstanding volunteers as well as a guest speaker. The other three luncheons
have local and state business leaders and government officials speaking on timely business issues.
Women in Government Contracting Conference
This one-day forum for Women in Government Contracting, examines all aspects of how
women operate and need to operate to be successful. The event includes power networking
opportunities, including a lunch and keynote.

Coffee with the President
This newly created program allows members the opportunity to discuss topics related to the Chamber membership experience with CEO, Leonardo McClarty, and Membership Director, Terri Carpenter, in a relaxed, informal,
and intimate setting.
Business Growth Seminar Series
Beginning in 2016, this seminar series geared towards companies in growth mode will take place six times a year.
Topics will range from marketing to accounting to sales and more.
Business-After-Business
These six socials are the Chamber's networking cornerstone, drawing up to 100 guests to enjoy food, drinks and
networking in a relaxed atmosphere. They are held six times per year at members’ locations, enabling each host
business to showcase their goods and services.

GovConnects Annual Programming: Business Breakfasts, Education Forums, and CEO Dinners
GovConnects hosts an informative Business Breakfast Series with expert speakers on government contracting
and other business-related topics. GovConnects is also presenting a Spring Education Series and a Fall Education
Series of six sessions each to help businesses build their knowledge of successful contracting in the government
market in a small, interactive class environment. Taking place once per quarterly, the CEO Dinners are private, invitation only, networking gatherings featuring the region’s top executives in the government contracting industry.
Young Professionals Network
YPN is a diverse group of young professionals who work together to increase business opportunities and foster
relationships for the future. The Howard County Chamber of Commerce provides YPN members with opportunities to get in front of, as well as build relationships with, the county's local community and business leaders. YPN,
in turn, works to make Howard County an energetic place to work, play, live and shop.
