How to use the
bus map and timetables

Votran does not issue transfers. We recommend that you
purchase an all day pass.

Children must be accompanied by a fare-paying adult passenger.
Limited to three children.
Passengers must show valid proof of status when paying a
reduced fare or showing a reduced fare pass.
Find your street or the street nearest to you on the map. Note the
name, number and color of the route nearest you. Bus departure times
can be found on the timetable for this route.
Find your destination on the map. Look for the nearest bus route to
this location. If this route is different from the first route you have
selected, look at the second timetable and map and check where a
transfer may be made. Most transfers are made at
Market Place, Providence/Fort Smith boulevards, Thomas C. Kelly
Administration Center and Northgate Plaza.
Check the timetable on the schedule under your route number and
look for the time point (cross streets) closest to where you would like
to board the bus. Follow the column down the timetable and find a
departure time convenient for your trip. Read across the line to the
time point closest to your destination transfer point to find your
arrival time.
If your boarding or destination point is between two timepoints, the
bus will arrive at your destination at a time between the time the
bus passes the first timepoint and arrives at the second timepoint.

When you have arrived at the street location where you need
to catch the bus, stand near a designated stop or where there
is no sign, stand at the far side of the intersection, not the near
side. The bus will not stop in midblock. Watch for your bus to
determine the correct route number before signaling the
operator to stop. Signal the bus operator by raising your hand.

operator to stop by pushing the yellow strip next to the
window or by pulling the cord. Stay seated until the bus comes
to a complete stop, then move to the rear of the bus to exit.
Wait until the green light above the door signals you to push
the vertical bars.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
All regular fixed buses are equipped for wheelchair accessibility.
Votran’s Gold service provides door-to-door transportation to persons
unable to use the regular fixed bus service. Transportation is provided
daily between 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. with a charge of $2.50 per trip.
Applications for Gold service can be obtained from votran.org or by
request by calling 386-322-5100. All applicants must be certified by
their doctors.
