RIVIERA MAYA
RIVIERA MAYA
The Riviera Maya is a 72 mile stretch along the coast line
located in the Yucatan Peninsula, State of Quintana Roo,
Mexico. It is located 30 minutes south of Cancun’s International Airport and starts from Puerto Morelos all the way
to Punta Allen, a small fishing village within the Sian Ka’an
Biosphere Reserve.
It’s the habitat for a rich variety of flora and fauna and geological formations that would be impossible to find anywhere else in the world lying hidden amid the intense
green. Here are “the cenotes”, sweet-water deposits of
capricious shapes and different sizes, produced by the
subterranean rivers which emerged to the surface over
the course of millions of years.
Facing the Riviera Maya’s coast is the world’s second largest coral reef, making it the perfect
place for scuba diving and snorkeling. Hundreds of marine species, including multi-colored
tropical fish, sponges, starfish and various types of coral make up the spectacular and fragile
Great Maya Reef.
The Riviera Maya provides a wide range of attractions: from adventure activities to golf or
tennis, hiking or riding on horseback thru the jungle, water and nautical sports and the cultural
and archaeological treasures of the Maya world, all are different and exciting options for
