Contrary to conventional curtain systems the
innovative Nergeco design uses several horizontal stiffening tubes to press the flexible curtain
firmly into all four sides of the doorframe, greatly increasing the airtight barrier. Nergeco Frigo
Doors further differ from conventional systems
due to the insulation design, which adapts to the
various temperature barrier requirements.
With an initial cold storage temperature of 32°F
(0°C), the temperature would never drop below
10°F (-12°C) with a special freezer vertical strip
door will reach 0°F (-18°C) within 1 hour 20 minutes with a Nergeco Frigo 1 and within 55 minutes
with a Nergeco Frigo 3 door. Experimental Cold
storage data: volume 36.6 cubic yards bay dimensions 6 x 7.5 ft. (1.8 x 2.3 m), cooling units 2.5 kW,
outside temperature 50°F (10°C).
According to our experience, when insulation
materials come in contact with cold storage
areas the materials reactions and behaviors are
always difficult to predict.

Cold storage areas require doors that open and
close quickly to keep the area at a constant temperature. To protect rigid insulated doors from
impacts you must open them all the way to allow
traffic through. The solution is to have a light
high-speed door, which can resist impact and still
be flexible.
Frigo 1 separates two below freezing cold storage areas. Nergeco manufactures a high-speed
roll-up curtain to allow for short opening and
closing times. This feature maintains the airtight
barrier between the two below freezing areas
without any danger to passing pedestrians or
product damage due to impact.

Description : The Nergeco Frigo 1 door-

Upon door activation warm airflows into the
cold storage area. As a result an ice layer covers
the door preventing the curtain from unrolling
or unfolding smoothly upon closure. To prevent
this problem the only solution would be to provide a heavy bottom beam to pull the curtain
down, however this would be very dangerous
for pedestrians and traffic along with causing
damage to the door with impact. Nergeco’s
research and development group have introduced a concept using horizontal stiffening tubes
to press the flexible curtain sides firmly into the
vertical side guides.
