KUNSTSTOFFLAND NRW E.V. STELLT SICH VOR
Ein starker Partner in der Kunststoffbranche
Nordrhein-Westfalen ist das Zentrum der Kunststoffindustrie in Deutschland, wenn nicht sogar in Europa. Die komplette Wertschöpfungskette ist
hier in höchster Qualität und räumlicher Dichte vertreten. Mit rund 1.000
Unternehmen, weit über 100.000 Beschäftigten und einem Jahresumsatz
von rund 25 Milliarden Euro zählt die Kunststoffbranche zu den
Leitbranchen in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Um alle Akteure der gesamten
Wertschöpfungskette – also vom Rohstoffhersteller, Verarbeiter und
Zulieferer bis hin zu Forschungseinrichtungen und Universitäten – zu
vernetzen, wurde der Verein kunststoffland NRW e.V. gegründet.
Als Clustermanager des Profil bildenden Clusters “Kunststoff.NRW” ist der
Verein für das Land aktiv.
Kompetenz und Exzellenz in der Kunststoffbranche
Im Verein kunststoffland NRW e.V. haben sich Akteure der Kunststoffbranche in NRW zusammengefunden, um das gemeinsame Ziel „Stärkung von
Kompetenz und Exzellenz der Branche“ zu verwirklichen und davon zu
profitieren. kunststoffland NRW e.V. bietet dazu die Plattform für Information, Kommunikation und Kooperation. Der Verein nutzt gezielt seine
intensiven Kontakte zu relevanten Einscheidungsträgern in Verwaltung und
auf den unterschiedlichen Politikebenen, damit die Rahmenbedingungen
für erfolgreiches Wirtschaften, Ausbildung und Forschung in NRW stimmen. Für Unternehmen werden Informationen, Veranstaltungsangebote
und ein breites Spektrum an Vermittlungs- und Beratungsdienstleistungen
zur Verfügung gestellt.

kunststoffland NRW stellt zudem auch das Management für das Landescluster „Kunststoff.NRW". Die Mitglieder des Vereins können sich somit

A strong partner in the plastics industry
North Rhine-Westphalia is the centre of the plastics industry in Germany,
if not in Europe. The entire value chain is represented here with the highest
quality and spatial density. With approximately 1,000 companies, more
than 100,000 employees and annual sales of around 25 billion euros, the
plastics industry is one of the leading industries in North Rhine-Westphalia.
kunststoffland NRW e. V. was founded in order to network all the players
throughout the entire value chain - from raw material producers to
processors and suppliers through to research institutions and universities.
The association is active for the country as Cluster Manager of the profile
promoting cluster Kunststoff.NRW.
Competence and excellence in the plastics industry
Stakeholders from the entire plastics industry in NRW have joined forces
in the kunststoffland NRW association in order to realize and profit from
the common goal of “strengthening of competence and excellence in the
industry”. In addition kunststoffland NRW offers a platform for information, communication and cooperation. The association uses its extensive
contacts with selected influential decision makers in administration and at
various political levels, so that the basic conditions for successful business, training and research are created in NRW. Information, events and a
broad range of brokerage and consulting services are provided for companies.

kunststoffland NRW also provides management for the state cluster
“Kunststoff.NRW”. The members of the association can actively contribute
to the design and structure of “their” industry cluster.

Die in Brilon ansässige Firma Bond-Laminates versteht sich als einer der
führenden Hersteller von thermoplastischen Faserverbundwerkstoffen.
Endlosfaserverstärkte thermoplastische Kunststoffe (Organobleche)

continuous fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites. These materials are
sold under the trade name TEPEX®. Continuous fibre reinforced thermoplastic composites (composite sheets) are used in areas, where the
combination of high stiffness and low density are of high importance.
The lightweight material is processable in short cycle times and thus can
be used for mass production. Due to the TEPEX®-forming and injection
moulding, even complex geometries are realisable in cycle times
<1 minute. Bond-Laminates combines fibres of Glass, Carbon and/or Aramid with different thermoplastics like PA6 & 66, TPU, PP, PPS and others.

bis hin zur Bemusterung von Material und Werkzeug im eigenen Technikum.
An der kleinsten funktionsfähigen Blasformmaschine der Welt kann das Verfahren zur Herstellung von Kunststoffhohlkörpern gut nachvollzogen werden.

Stiftung, one of Germany's largest foundations with an operational basis. The
foundation's own engineering centre carries out industry-related R&D in the
field of plastic technology. The spin-off, Hagen Engineering GmbH, has wide
experience in the entire R&D process for plastic products and their production.
Topics/Exhibits
The development of blow moulded articles is illustrated using the R&D chain:
it starts with the initial idea, the computer-assisted feasibility study of the
blow moulding process, the CAD engineering and design and the sampling of
materials and tools in the in-house technical centre. The world's smallest
operational blow-moulding machine is a good example of the process used to
manufacture hollow plastic bodies.

Reinhardt-Technik ist einer der führenden Hersteller von Anlagen zum Dosieren und Mischen von ein- und mehrkomponentigen Flüssigkunststoffen.
Seit Jahrzehnten zählen zum RT-Produktprogramm auch Maschinen zur
Verarbeitung von Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR), als direkten Anschluss an
Spritzgießmaschinen. Bislang verursachten die im Material enthaltenen
Additive eine ungleiche Entleerung der Materialfässer, wodurch oft über
5% Restmenge in den Fässern verblieb.
Jetzt hat Reinhardt-Technik mit der LSR ELA eine Maschine kreiert, die
hierfür eine durchweg seriöse Lösung bereithält. Elektromotoren, die mit
den Pumpen verbunden sind, sorgen so für eine simultane Fassentleerung
(Rest < 1%). Zudem ist das Design der platzsparenden Anlage mit vielen
innovativen Features in jeder Hinsicht durchdacht.

Reinhardt-Technik is one of the leading suppliers of metering and mixing
machines for liquid plastics. For decades the systems for processing Liquid
Silicone Rubber (LSR) for direct connection to injection moulding
machines belong to the company’s product range. Till the present time, the
additives contained in the material caused an uneven discharge from the
two supply barrels, which led to more than 5% residue remaining. With the
LSR, ELA Reinhardt-Technik has created a machine which thoroughly
solves this problem. The pumps are connected to two electric motors thus
providing a simultaneous emptying of the barrels and reducing the
residual material to a volume of < 1%. Moreover, the space saving and easy
manoeuvrable machine is thoughtfully designed with its innovative features.

Kundenspezifischer Kunststoff von WMK Plastics GmbH
Wir, die WMK Plastics, compoundieren seit über 25 Jahren technische
Thermoplaste, u.a. PA 6, PA 66, PC/ABS, PBT und POM, zu 1A-Neuwaren,
Industriequalitäten oder Regranulaten. Die Granulierung mit sämtlichen
Additiven, das Einfärben in z.B. RAL-Farben sowie die Lohncompoundierung runden das Gesamtprogramm ab.
Nach unserem Umzug von Wuppertal zurück nach Solingen stehen uns
jetzt 3.500m2 zur Verfügung. Die fünf Extruder laufen auf Hochtouren, um
das Volumen abbilden und die Lieferzeiten gewährleisten zu können. Durch
die Anschaffung eines weiteren Extruders haben sich unsere Kapazitäten
dieses Jahr auf über 7.000t/a erhöht.
Der Mahlbetrieb in Waldbröl wird aufgelöst und zieht mit seinen acht
Schneidmühlen ins Wuppertaler Werk.

Custom Plastics from WMK Plastics GmbH
At WMK Plastics we have been compounding engineering thermoplastics
including PA 6, PA 66, PC/ ABS, PBT and POM into 1A virgin material, industrial quality or regranulates for more than 25 years. Granulation including
all additives, colouring for example in RAL colours, and toll compounding
services complete our programme of activities.
Following our move from Wuppertal back to Solingen we now have 3500m2
of available floor space. The five extrusion machines are running flat out to
keep up with demand and ensure prompt delivery. And by procuring one
additional extruder we have increased our capacity for this year to over
7000t/a.
The grinding operation in Waldbröl will be discontinued and moved with its
eight granulators to the Wuppertal plant.

Das ZBT ist eine unabhängige und industrienahe Forschungseinrichtung in
NRW und präsentiert seine Kompetenz rund um die Herstellung und
Verarbeitung höchstgefüllter (bis zu 85 Gew.-%) thermoplastischer Kunststoffe mit multifunktionalen Eigenschaften. Das Portfolio reicht von
elektrisch und thermisch hochleitfähigen Compounds für den Einsatz in
Brennstoffzellen, als Wärmeüberträger oder als Heat Sink-Bauteil, bis hin
zu Polymeren für die aktive Brandlöschung. Die am ZBT hergestellten
Masterbatches oder Compounds sind zudem korrosionsstabil sowie
staubarm und mittels Extrusion, Kalandrieren, Spritzgießen oder anderer
formgebender Verfahren weiterverarbeitbar. Als Dienstleister im Bereich
F&E bietet das ZBT die Entwicklung und Produktion solch innovativer
Formulierungen auf Kundenwunsch hin an.

The ZBT is an independent, industry-oriented research organization in
NRW and presents its expertise around production and processing of
highly filled (up to 85 wt.%) thermoplastic polymers with multifunctional
properties. The portfolio ranges from electrical and thermal highly conductive compounds for fuel cells, heat-exchangers or heat-sinking applications
to active fire extinguishing polymers. Furthermore, these masterbatches or
