für Kunststoffe.
Pigmente zum Ernfärben von Kunststoffen haben hohe iechnische
Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Bei kurzen Verweilzeiien und relattv geringen Scherkräften in den Verarbeitungsmaschinen müssen die
Pigmente gut dispergierbar sein, d. h. leicht zer- und verteilbar sein
Lrnd schnell die Endfarbstärke erreichen. Sie müssen eine hohe
Hitzebeständigkeit aulvreisen, dürfen keine Migration zetgen und
erne dem Anwendungszweck entsprechende Licht und Wetterbeständig keit besitzen,
Die Palette der LANXESS Buntpigmente entsprichi diesen hohen Anforderungen und sie spielen daher bei der Einfärbung von
Kunststoffen eine bedeutende Rolle, Die vorliegende Farbkarte

normalen Eisenoxidbrauntypen sind Pigmentmischungen aus
Eisenoxidrot und -schwarz und z. T. Eisenoxidgelb. Spezielle
hitzestabrle Braun- und Schwarzpigmente sind ebenfalls verfugbar,

COLORTHERM@ Yellow
TANXESS Eisenoxidpigmente sind von der Menge her die
führenden anorganischen Buntpigmente, Sie umfassen die Farbtöne Gelb, Rot, Braun und Schwarz, Chemrsch gesehen handelt
es sich bei Eisenoxidgelbpigmenten um Eisen(lll)-oxidhydrate
mit nadelförmiger Teilchenform, bei Eisenoxidrotpigmenten
um Eisen(lll)-oxide und bei Eisenoxidschwarzpigmenten um
Eisen(ll, lll)-oxrde, beide mit kugelförmiger Teilchenform. Die

for Plastics.
The pigments used for coloring plastics must satisfy a number
of exacting technical requirements. Given the usually short dwell
times and relatively low shear forces in the processing equipment,
the pigments must have good dispersrbrlrty, i.e. they must be easy
to break down and distribute to reach their final tintrng strength
quickly. They must also have high thermal stability, and their light
fastness, and weather stabilrty must be adequate for the intended
application. They should not migrate.

COLORTHERM@ pigments are easily drspersed in plastics. Some
pigments are available in a micronized version with reduced agglomerates. The COLORTHERN/@ pigments (yellow, red, black and
brown) are specially pretested in PVC to meet the hrgh demands of
the coloring of plastics regarding product conformity.
lnorganic pigments in general and LANXESS's range of inorganic
color pigments in particular satisfy these requirements. This is why
these pigments play a significant role in the coloring of plastics,

COLORTHERM@ iron oxide pigments
The normal iron oxide yellow pigments possess a limited
heat resistance, By inorganic aftertreatment COLORTHFRN/@
Yellow 'l 0 and COLORTHERN/o Yellow 20 the latter with hydrophobic properties, were developed. The heat resistance of both pigments is up to 260 oC, therefore also suitable for HD-PE and PS,

Chromoxrdgrun-Pigmente können aufgrund ihrer ausgezeichneten Eigenschaften, d. h. hohe Hitzebeständigkeit, Migrationsbestä ndigkeit u nd hervorragende Licht u nd Wetterbeständi gkeit,
zur Einfärbung von allen maßgeblichen Kunststoffen verwendet
werden. Bei der Einarbeitung der Chromoxidgrün-Pigmente sollte ihre relativ hohe Eigenhärte berücksichtigtwerden. Dies istvon
Bedeutung, wenn Chromoxidgrün in hochtourigen Mischaggregaten verwendet wird, wie z. B. beim Mischen mit PVC-Pulver
oder beim Arbeiten mit schneil laufenden Extrudern, da es dann
zu einem erhöhten N/etallabrieb kommen kann.

COLORTHERM@ chrome oxide pigments
With their excellent resistance properties - heat stability, migration resistance, lightfastness and weather stability - Chrome
Oxide Green pigments are suitable for coloring almost any type
of plastic. When dispersing these pigments, their relatively high
inherent hardness should be borne in mind. This is particularly
significant if high-speed mixers are used, e.g. when mixing PVC
powders or working with a high-speed extruder, because the
metal may be abraded more.
COLORTHERM@ Green GN-M
is especially recommended for
PVC coating pastes, e,g. for truck tarpaulins or floor coverings,
because then pastes can also be ground in a dissolver.
COLORTHERM@ pigments for special applications
Recently, artificial turf based on COLORTHERM@ yellow pigments was introduced in modern stadiums successfully. The
reasons of this success are multiple:
. The technical progress makes it possible to optimize
playgrounds for different kinds of sport.
. The construction of stadiums makes it essential to introduce
full-scale mechanism for getting sunshine for the green areas
and guarantee good maintenance.
. Modern artificial turf areas are not so particular about care
compared with natural turl
. Artificial turf is not so sensitive concerning extreme
weather conditions.
Also for coloring a combination of wood fibres and thermoplastics
(WPC), COLORTHERM@ inorganic pigments from LANXESS have
proven to be very effective. Wood colors and earth tones can be reproduced so realistically with these pigments that the end products
are virtually identical in appearance io natural wood.
