With 2500 hours of sunshine per year, it is one of the sunniest
islands.
Green island
The mild climate favors the growth of vegetation so the
landscape of the island consists of pine trees, palm trees, vineyards,
olive groves, pastures, various bushes, lavender fields, and green
holm oak forest. The island of Rab is the second greenest island of
the Croatian Adriatic, and because of its greenery, the Liburnians
called it Arbe – Green.

Das milde Klima begünstigt das Wachstum der Vegetation
und so besteht die Landschaft der Insel aus Pinienwäldern,

Lavendelfeldern und grünen Steineichenwäldern. Die Insel Rab ist
die zweitgrünste Insel der kroatischen Adria und wegen ihres Grüns
nannten sie die Liburner Arbe – Grün.

EN View of the four bell towers and a medieval town that
is more than two thousand years old, are a symbol of an eternal
beauty and special atmosphere of the old town of Rab. The
Romans called it Felix, happy city of Rab. A stroll through the
narrow stone streets of the city offers a view of the many cultural
and historical sights: churches, palaces of Rab’s royalty, arranged
squares, walkways, flower beds and parks, the atmosphere of
sea promenades, as well as a lot of open terraces for refreshment
and relaxation. The most famous legend of forbidden love of
a shepherd Kalifront towards Draga, a shepherdess from Rab,
is located at the St Christopher’s Square. This is the place of
knightly tournaments of Rab’s crossbowmen, and opening of
the most famous manifestation “Rapska Fjera“, which celebrates
the magnificence of medieval Rab and power of its patron St.
Christopher. The largest park “Komrčar“ is a favourite place for
relaxation and walking.

■■ Prince Alois von Lichtenstein, who stayed on Rab in 1910, amazed
by its beauties, paid for the construction of the sea promenade.
■■ Edward VIII with his future wife Wallis Simpson visited the city of
Rab in 1936.

Rab.

DE Der Anblick der vier Glockentürme und die mehr als
zweitausend Jahre alte Stadt sind ein Symbol ewiger Schönheit
und besonderer Atmosphäre der Altstadt Rab. Die Römer nannten
sie Felix, die glückliche Stadt Rab. Ein Spaziergang durch die
engen, gepflasterten Gassen der Stadt bietet einen Blick auf
zahlreiche kulturhistorische Sehenswürdigkeiten: Kirchen, Paläste
der Adeligen von Rab, gepflegte Plätze, Spazierwege, Ziergärten
und Parks, die schöne Atmosphäre der Meerespromenaden
und eine Vielzahl von offenen Terrassen zur Erfrischung und
Entspannung. Die berühmteste Legende der verbotenen Liebe
des Hirten Kalifront zu Draga, einer Schäferin der Insel Rab, spielte
sich auf dem Platz des heiligen Chirstophorus ab. Dies ist auch
der Ort der Ritterturniere der Armbrustschützen von Rab und der
Eröffnung der Manifestation „Rapska Fjera“, welche die Größe des

IT La vista che si estende da quattro campanili e la città
medievale di più di duemila anni sono un simbolo della bellezza
eterna e dell’atmosfera particolare della città storica di Arbe. I
Romani la nominarono Felix, la felice città di Arbe. La passeggiata
lungo le strette vie della città lastricate di pietra offre una vista
su numerose curiosità storico-culturali: chiese, palazzi dei nobili
di Arbe, piazze, lungomari, giardini di fiori, parchi, atmosfera dei
lungomari e numerose terrazze scoperte per rinfrescarsi e rilassarsi.
La più famosa leggenda, quella dell’amore proibito di pastore
Kalifront per Draga, pastorella di Arbe, ebbe luogo sulla piazza
principale di San Cristoforo. È anche il palcoscenico del palio dei
balestrieri di Arbe, nonché di apertura di manifestazione famosa
“Fiera di Arbe”, la quale celebra la grandezza dell’Arbe medievale
e i poteri del suo santo patrono San Cristoforo. Il parco più grande
Komrčar è il luogo preferito per riposare e passeggiare.

Recreation
EN Numerous walkways and interesting walking, hiking and biking trails lead to attractive locations on the island and offer opportunity
for recreation and enjoyment in the natural beauties and landscape.
Two of the trails are especially interesting:
■■ trail to the highest peak on Rab, Kamenjak, with panoramic view of the entire island and its surroundings
■■ the educational Premužić trail, which, on the south side of the island, leads through the forests of the peninsula Kalifront to the sea bays, and
on the north side of the island, through an interesting area of Geopark, towards the town of Lopar and sandy beaches.
Pleasant and easier walking trails are located around the city of Rab, and in the city park “Komrčar“.
Maps with these trails are available to the tourists.
Sport
For an active vacation and sport there are tennis courts, swimming pools, wellness, beach volleyball, water polo, diving bases and diving
schools, water skiing, jet-skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and some of the adrenaline sports.
Beaches
For fans of swimming and sunbathing the island of Rab offers diverse and beautiful natural beaches: gravel, sandy and rocky beaches,
located on the indented coastline in a series of bays, on peninsulas, and small islands.
The most famous is the sandy beach in Lopar, known as “Rajska plaža“ (Paradise beach) because of its characteristics.
DE Zahlreiche Promenaden und interessante Spazier, Wander- und Fahrradwege führen zu attraktiven Orten der
Insel und bieten eine Möglichkeit für Erholung und Genuss der
Naturschönheiten und Landschaft.
Besonders interessant sind zwei Wege:
■■ der Weg zur höchsten Spitze Rabs, dem Kamenjak mit
Panoramablick auf die gesamte Insel und Umgebung
■■ der lehrreiche Premužić-Wanderweg (Premužićeva staza), der im
Süden der Insel durch die Wälder der Halbinsel Kalifront bis zu
Meeresbuchten und im Norden der Insel durch das interessante
Gebiet des Geopkars bis zum Ort Lopar und Sandstränden führt.
Angenehme und leichtere Spazierwege befinden sich in der
Umgebung der Stadt Rab und im Stadtpark „Komrčar“.
Den Touristen stehen Karten mit eingezeichneten Wegen zur
Verfügung.
Sport
Für einen aktiven Urlaub und Sport im Angebot stehen Ihnen
auch Tennisplätze, Pools, Wellness-Einrichtungen, Beach-Volleyball,
Wasserball, Tauchstationen und Tauchschulen, Wasserski, Jet-Skis,

Strände
Für Liebhaber des Badens und Sonnenbandes bietet die Insel
Rab verschiedenartige und schöne Naturstrände an: Kies-, Sandund Steinstrände befinden sich an der zerklüfteten Küste an einer
Reihe von Meeresbuchten, auf Halbinseln und kleinen Inselchen.
Der bekannteste Standstrand befindet sich im Ort Lopar und
wegen seiner Eigenschaften ist er als „Paradiesstrand“ bekannt.
IT Numerosi lungomari e interessanti sentieri pedonali,
escursionistici e ciclabili portano verso le località attraenti dell’isola
e offrono la possibilità di ricreazione e godimento nelle bellezze
naturali e nel paesaggio.
Sono particolarmente interessanti due sentieri:
■■ sentiero che porta verso Kamenjak, vetta più alta di Arbe, con
una vista panoramica che si estende lungo tutta la isola e i
dintorni
■■ sentiero educativo di Premužić che nella parte meridionale
dell’isola porta attraverso i boschi della penisola di Kalifront
fino alle insenature, e nella parte settentrionale dell’isola porta
attraverso la zona interessante di Geopark, verso il villaggio di
Lopar e le spiagge di sabbia.
I sentieri piacevoli meno esigenti si trovano nei dintorni della
città di Arbe e nel parco cittadino Komrčar.
Ai turisti sono a disposizione le mappe con i sentieri marcati.

Per le vacanze attive e le attività sportive sono a vostra
disposizione campi da tennis, piscine, wellness, beach volley,
pallanuoto, immersioni e scuole di sub, sci nautico, jet-ski, canoa,
kayak e vari sport adrenalinici.
Spiagge
Agli amanti di balneazione e bagno di sole l’isola di Arbe offre
numerose bellissime spiagge naturali: spiagge di ghiaia, spiagge di
sabbia, spiagge di cemento situate lungo la costa articolata in una
serie di insenature, sulle penisole e piccole isole.
La più famosa è la spiaggia di sabbia nel luogo di Lopar per la
sua particolarità chiamata “Spiaggia paradisiaca”.

unique view of the sea and the old town of Rab, as well as modern
and elegantly decorated hotel facilities. Guests of the hotel can
enjoy in walks along the sea, and in swimming at the beaches in the

For relaxation there is wellness, very elegant and spacious
new indoor pool with access to the sunbathing area, as well as an
