RLP´s Herz schlägt für Automotiv
Hersteller und Zulieferer in der Automobilbranche erwirtschafteten im Jahr 2010 fast ein
Viertel des Industrieumsatzes im Land. Damit gilt diese Branche, sowohl umsatz- als
auch beschäftigungsmäßig, als zweitstärkste Industriebranche in Rheinland-Pfalz. Fast
jeder vierte Industriearbeitsplatz – insgesamt gut 65.000 – ist hier bei einer umfassende Betrachtung zu verorten. Die Automobilzulieferer in Rheinland-Pfalz gehören unterschiedlichen Industriezweigen an. Schwerpunktmäßig stammen die meisten Zulieferer
aus den Bereichen der Herstellung von Metallprodukten, Gummi- und Kunststoffteilen
und Ausrüstung bzw. Maschinen- und Anlagenbau. Dieser Anteil macht insgesamt fast
80% der Zulieferer aus. Näheres hierzu:

Bundesagentur für Arbeit 31.670 Angestellte im Jahr 2012. Das entspricht einem Beschäftigungswachstum von 20% seit 2003.* Laut INMIT 2011 waren im Jahr 2010 in

Rhineland-Palatinate‘s heart beats for the automotive industry
In 2010 manufacturers and suppliers in the automobile sector generated almost a
­quarter of the industrial turnover in the state. This means that the industry is the ­second
­strongest industrial sector in Rhineland-Palatinate, both in terms of turnover and
­employment ­figures. If we consider all sectors, almost one in every four industrial jobs
– in all around 65,000 – is located in this industry. Automobile suppliers in Rhineland-­
Palatinate belong to different branches of industry. Most of the suppliers come from the
fields of metal ­products, rubber and plastic parts and machinery manufacturing, or from

Nutzfahrzeugspezifische Fragestellungen und Aktivitäten sind in Rheinland-Pfalz im „Commercial Vehicle Cluster“ (CVC) gebündelt. Das IMO-Institut hat 2005 den CVC entwickelt und aufgebaut. Er konnte 2008 in eine eigenständige Organisation überführt
werden, in der Nutzfahrzeug- und Landmaschinenhersteller, ihre Zulieferer und das
