A3972242 Princess is a spunky seven year old brown
brindle with white markings spayed female Chihuahua
who was dumped at the Baldwin Park Shelter on
August 27th because her former owners got divorced.
Weighing seven pounds, Princess has a medium
energy level, prances beautifully on leash and is most
likely housebroken. Good with other dogs, she
seems to be sensitive to being picked up which
possibly could be for medical reasons – so we
recommend that she be examined by a competent
veterinarian and for the time being think she would be
best in an adult home. Princess is a terrific pet for an
adult family or a senior citizen.

A4182766 Lucky is a polite six year old fawn and
black neutered male German Shepherd who was
discarded at the Baldwin Park Shelter with his
companion King (A4755742) on October 1st, because
his owner moved and was either too lazy or too
heartless to find a safe place for his dogs. Weighing
thirty-eight pounds, Lucky has a medium energy level,
prances beautifully on leash and is most likely
housebroken. He has an amiable disposition. He gets
along splendidly with other dogs, especially King, and
we think he will be good with children. He has been
neglected recently as he has flystrike on both ears
from being left outside – but his spirit is fabulous.
Lucky is an awesome indoor pet for a family living in a
private residence.

A4204876 Sophie is a plug and play six year old
brown with white markings spayed female Boxer mix
who was dumped at the Baldwin Park Shelter on
September 20th because they moved and were either
too lazy or too inconsiderate to find a safe place to
bring their pet to. Weighing sixty pounds, Sophie has
a medium energy level, walks beautifully on leash,
knows commands and is most likely housebroken.
She is scared in the noisy shelter environment having
been used to being a family pet, but we are sure she
will blossom as soon as she is in a loving environment
again. She is non-reactive to other dogs and we
predict she will be good will be children. Sophie is a
marvelous indoor pet for a family living in a private
home.

A4989748 Luke is a fabulous two year old fawn male
Chihuahua who was found without either a collar with
attached identification tags or a microchip in Baldwin
Park on September 4th and brought to the Baldwin
Park Shelter. Weighing ten pounds, Luke has a
medium energy level, walks well on leash – albeit it
with three legs as he was born with a birth defect
which caused his left leg to twist backwards, and is
most likely housebroken. Charming and affable, Luke
gets along well with other polite dogs and we think he
will be good with children. Luke is an awesome loving
indoor companion and lapdog for anyone!

A4989811 Rocky is a sensitive ten year old white and
black male Chihuahua who was dumped at the
Baldwin Park Shelter with his companion Mickey
(A4989809) on September 4th after his former owners
moved and took their stereo, television and probably
even their kids, but were too lazy or inconsiderate to
find a safe place for their faithful pets. Weighing
seven pounds, Rocky is too timid to walk on leash in
the chaotic shelter. However we believe this medium
energy boy is housetrained. He has a pleasant
disposition and once he gets to know you becomes
quite affectionate. He is good with other dogs –
especially Mickey, and we think he will be fine with
well-behaved children. Rocky is a lovable and
devoted lapdog and indoor pet for any mature family.

A4990365 Orlando is an impressive seven year old
taupe colored male Mastiff who was found without
either a collar with attached identification tags or a
microchip on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona on
September 7th and brought to the Baldwin Park
Shelter. Weighing one hundred and three pounds,
Orlando has a low to medium energy level and is
manageable on leash. He has an independent nature
and is seemingly disinterested in the other large dogs
he has met. Orlando is an excellent indoor pet for a
family or individual living in a private residence.

A4992311 Russo is a well-behaved three year old
tricolor neutered male Terrier who was found in
Covina on September 13th and brought to the
Baldwin Park Shelter. He has a microchip and the
shelter has tried to reach his registered owners both
by phone and mail, but so far without success.
Weighing fifteen pounds, Russo has a medium
energy level, walks beautifully on leash and is most
likely housebroken. Currently suffering from kennel
cough, he has a little bit of hair loss which may be
caused by being exposed to fleas. He has a warm
disposition and is good with other dogs. We think he
will be even better with children. Russo is a
marvelous indoor pet for any family or individual.

brindle with white female Pit Bull puppy who was found
without either a collar with attached identification tags or a
microchip in West Covina on September 16th and brought
to the Baldwin Park Shelter. Weighing thirty-five pounds
and likely to grow to fifty-five pounds, Hazel has a solid
puppy energy and is a blank slate for training. She is eager
to greet and play with other dogs and we can’t wait to see
how happy this kissy puppy will be when she gets to meet

A4993662 Baby is a congenial thirteen year old tan
with white markings female Chihuahua who was
discarded at the Baldwin Park Shelter because her
former owners’ landlord denied them the right to have
a pet. Weighing fifteen pounds, Baby has a low
energy level, walks beautifully on leash and according
to her former owners is both housebroken and good
with kids. Other than needing a teeth cleaning, she
appears to be in tip top shape. She is friendly and
loving and we think the world of this well-mannered
girl. Baby is a sensational indoor pet for anyone and

medium energy level, walks brilliantly on leash and is
most likely housebroken. She is affable and loving
and gets along beautifully with other dogs – and we
think she will do fine with children. She has a
marvelous underbite – and could use a dental
cleaning, but other than that appears to be in tip top
shape. She is described by one of Baldwin Park’s
most dedicated volunteers as a “homerun dog”. Bella

pounds, Olaf has a medium energy level, walks pretty
well on leash and is most likely housebroken.

A4997667 Miles is an adorable eight year old tan and
cream male Terrier who was found with his
companion Honey (A4008665) but without either a
collar with attached identification tags or a microchip
in El Monte on September 28th and brought to the
Baldwin Park Shelter. Weighing ten pounds, Miles
has a medium energy level, walks beautifully on leash
and is most likely housebroken. He has some
cloudiness in his left eye, and possibly could be blind
in it, and has a cherry eye in his left eye. There are
not enough great things to say about his jovial
personality. He is loving, he is affectionate and has a
first-class disposition. He is great with other dogs –
especially Honey, and it would be awesome if they
were adopted together. We are sure he will be good
with children. Miles is a tremendous indoor pet for
absolutely anyone!

leash and is most likely housebroken. She has a
cheerful and affectionate disposition and wags her tail
enthusiastically when approached. She is good with
other small dogs and we think she will be fine with
children. Fiona is a fabulous indoor pet for any
individual or family and would be a sensational
companion for a senior citizen.

A4998408 Patrick is a deserving blind two year old
champagne and white male Poodle who was found in
deplorable condition in Baldwin Park on October 1st
and brought to the Baldwin Park Shelter. Weighing
nine pounds, Patrick came into the shelter filthy and
very matted, and his intake exam found the following:
“microphthalmos on the right eye, [left eye]
exophthalmia with black nodule on cornea”.
Additionally a section of Patrick’s neck and upper
chest is raw and partly scabbed over. At this point, he
appears to be blind - but that could mean that his
larger, left eye has experienced trauma and, once
treated properly, will be sighted again. Despite all this,
however, Patrick is a loving boy who adores human
attention, being petted, and snuggling, and who perks
up when he hears the voice of a volunteer outside his
little cage in the medical building—he knows it’s time
to go into the yard for a potty break and some cuddle
time. Patrick deserves to experience some love and
happiness in his life and we hope some
compassionate rescue or adopter will emerge to save
this dog and be rewarded with undying love in return.

A4940649 Buddy is an excellent two year old gray

without either a collar with attached identification tags

pounds, Buddy has a medium to high energy level

great this dog is – he has been in a high intake shelter
which kills pit bulls routinely – so he has to be really
special for the shelter to have kept him alive. Of
course he has passed his shelter administered
temperament test which means that he is good with
other dogs and will be equally good with children.
