Österreich auf der Biofach 2016 in Nürnberg
In Österreich gibt es prozentual gesehen den höchsten
Bio-Bauern-Anteil in der Europäischen Union. Es ist somit
nicht verwunderlich, dass in Österreich Bio Lebensmittel
seit vielen Jahren einen beachtlichen Teil zum Umsatz des
Lebensmittelhandels beitragen. Gleichzeitig sind die Biobetriebe,
die Verarbeitungsbetriebe und Vermarkter von ökologisch
erzeugten Produkten bestrebt, auf den internationalen Märkten neue Geschäftspartner zu
finden und bestehende Geschäftsverbindungen zu vertiefen.
Es liegt daher nahe, dass auch in diesem Jahr wieder zahlreiche österreichische Firmen
auf der Biofach 2016 in Nürnberg, der größten und wichtigsten Biofachmesse der Welt
teilnehmen, um neue Interessenten, Kunden und Vertriebspartner für die qualitativ
hochwertigen und streng nach den Biorichtlinien kontrollierten österreichischen
Lebensmittelspezialitäten zu gewinnen.
Das vorliegende Heft soll Ihnen den Rundgang durch die österreichische Biowirtschaft
erleichtern und Ihnen die österreichischen Ausstellerfirmen mit ihrem umfangreichen,
wohlschmeckenden und gesundem Angebot anlässlich der Biofach 2016 in Nürnberg

Das national und international vielfach
ausgezeichnete Weingut liegt im südlichen
Weinviertel ungefähr 20 km vor den Toren
Wiens. Die Weingärten befinden sich auf

Bewirtschaftet werden die Reben seit

around 20km from Vienna in the Southern
Weinviertel. The vineyard is located on the
area’s first hill.
The vines have been grown to organic
standards since the 1990s and since 2001
Hofer also has certified organic agriculture. This not only serves to protect nature’s bounty, but also brings consumers a
piece of nature in their wineglass.
The family has also run a Heuriger (classic
wine tavern) since 2003. Guests can enjoy

Contract peeling and pressing of hemp
seeds is the main business focus of Hanfland GmbH, a company which concludes
hemp cultivation contracts with organic
farmers in Austria and the EU. In 2015 80
Austrian contract farmers grew organic
hemp across 300 hectares.
Peeled hemp seeds are used for muesli,
yoghurt and smoothies, or as a garnish
for salads and dishes. Whole hemp grains
are used for baking cakes and bread, while
hemp oil, with its high levels of Omega-3
fatty acids, is used for cold dishes. The
range also includes hemp flour, hemp
protein powder for vegans, hemp-protein
bread mix, hemp cake in a tin, hemp
cookies, hemp muesli mixes and blended
hemp teas.

Styrian soft fruit cooperative (Steirische
Beerenobstgenossenschaft eGen) has been
producing exquisite berries from Austria.
Some 700 contract farmers grow black and
red currants, elderberries, elderflowers
and chokeberries, either conventionally or
in compliance with EU organic standards.
The fruit, especially elder, enjoys demand
not just in Austria, but throughout the

Unter der Marke Toni´s Freilandeier produzieren etwa 30 Bio-Freilandbauern und
100 Freilandbauern, die sich allesamt zu
besonders artgerechten Haltungsbedingungen, riogoroser Kontrolle und absoluter
Hygiene verpflichtet haben. Die Hennen
erhalten rein pflanzliches Futter, das auf
seine GMO-Freiheit überprüft wird.
Die (Bio-)Freilandeier werden direkt am
Legebetrieb vom Bauern sortiert und
kleinverpackt. Anschließend legen die
Bauern ihre Visitenkarte in die Kleinverpackungen - somit bürgt der (Bio-)Bauer mit
seinem Namen für sein Produkt.
Around 30 organic, free-range farmers
and 100 free-range farmers produce eggs
for the Toni´s free-range brand, committing to the speciesappropriate farming
conditions, rigorous testing and absolute
hygiene standards which are required. The
chickens are only fed pure vegetarian feed
from Austria, which is regularly checked to
guarantee that it is GM free.
The (organic) free-range eggs are sorted
directly on the farm and packaged by the
farmers. The farmers then lay their business card in each individual pack, ensuring that the (organic) farmer provides a
personal guarantee for his own product.
