SYNOPSIS

more than with her friends. They
are waiting in a restaurant reflecting energetically on the increasing number of their annual

are shopping also, though admittedly in their own special way.
Meanwhile, on her 80th birthday,
Léonie rebels against her daughter and old age and gleefully sabotages her own birthday party.

about to die when, at long last,
a postcard written and sent by

A spoof on James Bond. It’s 1955
and after a fellow agent and
close friend disappears, secret
agent Hubert Bonisseur de la
Bath, a.k.a. OSS 117, is ordered
to take his place at the head of a
poultry firm in Cairo. This is to be
his cover while he is busy investigating, foiling Nazi holdouts,
quelling a fundamentalist rebellion, and bedding local beauties.
Victor Granville (Patrick Descamps),
propriétaire d’une usine de vélos
qui porte son nom, apprend qu’il
est gravement malade, et remet
sa PME au groupe « New Deal »,
une grande entreprise surtout active
dans la communication et les media.
Corinne (Lubna Azabal), une jeune cadre de « New Deal », est nommée à la
tête de «Granville » pour restructurer
la société et supprimer une des deux
chaînes de production. Pour choisir «
équitablement » l’équipe d’ouvriers qui
pourra garder son emploi, elle met en
place une compétition entre les deux
chaînes : celle qui aura produit le plus
de vélos sera conservée, et l’autre
équipe sera licenciée. Jean-Paul (Gaétan Wenders) et Bruno (Renaud Rutten), les deux chefs de chaîne, n’ont
pas le choix, mais ils jurent d’éviter les
coups bas pour préserver leur amitié…
Est-ce possible alors qu’ils doivent sauver leur boulot et celui de leur équipe ?

vidéo. Il répète la scène en secret,
sans même le dire à Suzie, l’amour
de sa vie. Cette dernière aussi a son
secret : elle est enceinte de Louis. Mais en raison du genre de vie
que mène celui-ci, elle ne sait pas
si elle veut élever son enfant avec
ce dernier. Mais les deux drames
trouvent une conclusion heureuse :
Louis passera l’audition avec succès
et Suzie restera avec son amoureux
pour fonder une famille. Toutefois,
le passé de Louis finira par le rattraper... famille. Toutefois, le passé

Louis, 40 years old, is a bit of a braggart who has long nurtured a childhood dream: to become an actor.
Thanks to a cousin of his, he is asked
to audition for a rather unique part:
a father videotaping a final message for his son. Louis rehearses the
scene in secret, and doesn’t even tell
Suzie, the love of his life, what he’s
up to. Suzie also has a secret of her
own: she is pregnant with Louis’s
child. However, given his lifestyle,
Suzie isn’t really sure she wants to
raise her child with Louis. In the
end, everything works out for the
best: Louis passes the audition, and
Suzie decides to stay with her love
and start a family. However, Louis’
past is about to catch up with him...

The Alliance Française de Bulawayo

Suburbs. The building is characteristic of the early colonial style so
evident in the architecture of Bulawayo. Although located in peaceful surroundings, it is only a five
minute drive from the city centre.
Alliance Française de Bulawayo was established in Bulawayo in the
late 1940’s, making it the first Alliance Française in the country.
While its main mission is to teach the French language and to promote
francophone culture in Bulawayo and its surrounding areas, Alliance Française also support a wide variety of social and cultural events. With the
help of the French Embassy in Harare and in partnership with local institutions and companies, Alliance Française organizes cultural activities,
including the Francophone Week, music concerts, theatre productions,
fashion shows, book launches, film festivals, dance shows and art exhibitions. These all contribute to the creation of a diverse cultural exchange.
The name of Alliance Française de Bulawayo has become synonymous
with exceptional cultural and artistic events, many of which were a first
in the City of Kings. Between 2002 and 2010, the association welcomed
many seasoned artists to Bulawayo, including Oliver Mtukudzi, Chiwoniso, The Cool Crooners, Dudu Manhenga, Sally Nyolo, Lionel Loueke, Joe
Nina, Kinobe, Ismael Lo, Quator Parisii, Asa, Aly Keita and many more.
Alliance Française is open to the public from 8.00am to 7.00pm,
Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 12pm on Saturday mornings. It is closed on Sunday and on Zimbabwean public holidays.

Une usine ferme dans une petite ville
roumaine, les ouvriers sont licenciés et
Emil, qui était tourneur, se retrouve au
chômage. Ana, sa compagne, perd également son emploi et voilà une famille
de la classe ouvrière, moyenne, devant
l’urgence de faire des choix qui engagent leur vie : rester dans un pays en
pleine mutation ou partir à l’étranger ?
Dans un premier temps, Ana, Emil et
leur fils, Dorin, s’installent chez les parents d’Ana, après avoir vendu leur appartement et leur voiture. Ils ont beau
envisager maintes solutions, la plus tentante leur paraît être d’émigrer en Australie pour un nouveau départ dans un
pays qui, à leurs yeux, présente des opportunités. Mais il faut, pour ce projet,
obtenir des visas et changer en dollars
leur petit pécule. Emil se rend donc à
Bucarest… Une aventure qui laisse augurer du pire pour ce provincial crédule. Ce n’est pas Candide au pays des
soviets, mais Candide plongé dans le
capitalisme sauvage de l’Europe de l’Est.
Exchange tells the tragic story of
a man caught in a vicious circle
of poverty and decline. A factory
worker, Emil, loses his job when the
manufacturing plant he works in
closes down. When his wife also becomes unemployed soon after, the
pair decides to leave their provincial town and emigrate to Australia
in the hope of finding a better life.
After selling everything they own
to fund the trip, a Bucharest conman robs Emil of all their savings
and Emil discovers that he is capable of anything to get his money
back. Exchange takes a social-realist
view of the lives or ordinary Romanians and Exchange is a hard look
at the country’s struggle to make
the shift to a market economy.

Le film s’inspire d’une histoire vraie,
celle vécue par Patrice Lumumba,
le premier Premier Ministre du nouvel état indépendant de la République du Congo. Avant d’accéder à ce
poste il joua un rôle significatif dans
la dure bataille pour l’indépendance
sous le règne du Roi des Belges.
Le film raconte les détails de sa carrière, son ascension, mais aussi de ses
difficultés et des revers qu’il essuya à
cause de l’hypocrisie des anciens maîtres et de la duplicité de certains de
ses propres compatriotes. Patrice Emery Lumumba voulait imposer une vision cohérente de son pays ainsi que
de l’Afrique dans son ensemble, il clamait que “l’Afrique est un tout et qu’il
faut dépasser les provincialismes”.
C’est ainsi qu’aux déclarations solennelles du Roi Baudouin I proclamant
l’indépendance du Congo succédèrent
violence et bain de sang. Le rêve s’écroula
et les luttes fratricides prirent le pas sur
la lutte contre la domination coloniale.

the hands of the King of Belgians. The
movie recounts the details of his career,
of his ascension, but also of his difficulties, the setbacks he endured because of
the hypocrisy of the colonists and of the

Lumumba wanted to impose his vision,
that of the cohesion of Africa: “Africa is a
whole, we must go beyond provincialism”.
Thus, the oaths of independence promised by the King Baudouin I, were quickly
dispelled in a bloodbath. The dream collapsed and the fratricidal struggles took
precedence over the colonial domination.
