Welcomee to the 35th Annual South East Sale
Sale.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us for this long-time running event,
where the quality runs deep in cattle and customer satisfaction. We are extremely
proud of that fact and it drives us as breeders, to breed better bulls and keep our service
at the forefront. We know that you could go anywhere to buy your bulls, but because
you chose the South East sale, we are honored to say the least. Thank you! Just as a
point of interest, this is a consignment sale where 5 breeders unite and strive to bring
you their best bulls that represent their herd.
Now, about the offering. First, we want to welcome the Gilliland Bros to the sale.
And, now about the bulls. The bulls you will see in the catalogue are ready to go out
and do the job. They are pedigreed and performance bulls right for the times…
especially these times where second best just doesn’t cut it.
We are pleased to be working with the Duke’s again and are excited about the bulls they
bring each year.
Please feel free to call any of the sales staff or consignors about the offering. Most
important, come sale day to enjoy lunch compliments of the breeders and some great
socializing before and after the sale.
If you need a Charolais or Hereford bull, please join us at the South East Sale on April 11.

Brad Rutten, President, SE Sask Breeders
Cattlemen...
This will be the 35th Annual Sale for the SE Sask Breeders. Over the years the
actual Consignors have evolved, but one thing that has remained constant is their
committment to providing a great set of beef bulls to the cattlemen of SE Sask.
This year’s offering is stronger than ever. Big, stout, beef bulls with lots of performance,
muscle and hair. There is a top bull for every discriminating cattle producer whether
you want a performance bull, a calving ease bull, a red factor Charolais or a high quality
Hereford – you can sure find that bull at the SE Sale.
It is a real plus to be able to offer quality bulls from two great breeds of cattle at this
sale. There is no question that both the Hereford and Charolais breeds are pivotal
players in our beef industry. That tan or yellow crossbred steer has been and continues
to be the “CADILLAC” of the Canadian Feeding Industry. Crossbreeding is a must in
today’s highly competitive beef business. So, whether you are breeding for tans, silvers
or black baldies, there will be a great herdbull for you at the SE Sask Breeders Sale.
In tight times, performance and quality become more important than ever and do
dictate the value of your calves. The market teaches us – buy the very best bull you can
afford because narrow, light weight calves are worth a whole lot LESS!
Please call if I can assist with your purchase in any way.
Sincerely, Dale

bull on sale day.

Uproar 12U sure has a lot to roar about. Not only is he out of one of our
favourite cows purchased from the Galgers, but he is sired by one of the old
stand by bulls of the breed, White Hot. We don’t need to say all that White
Hot has done for the industry, and in times like this predictabilty is a must.
Take a look at Uproar!
Lots 4 and 6 are both Whitehot sons. 19U’s dam is a Prospector daughter
that is moderate and maternally awesome. Prospector came through this
very ring as a two year old and sold to Myers-Crestview Farms, Wawota.
This bull has a lot of potential and will add to your bull power. Note the
birth weight on this bull ...heifer bull!

like in a bull. Look at his haircoat, his depth of quarter, and overall capacity.
His dam is a great red female in our herd. His sire is Pierce, the Supreme

McTavish Realastate is quite simply put, an impressive bull. This bull
has lots of natural muscling. If you come to take a look, this bull will be
hard to forget. He packs a powerful punch of eye appeal and performance.
Realastate is an MNE Park Model son and is probably one of the best ones

Terms & Conditions...
TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at the sale unless
satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of
property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlements must be made
with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. The Auctioneer shall
have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in
payment or who has not made credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or
Sales Manager. All monies are in Canadian funds. Sale is not complete until final
payment is received.
DISPUTES: In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties
involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the
auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters is final.
PURCHASERS RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by
announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take
precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay
close attention to announcements.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian
Charolais or Hereford Associations. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be
furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.
SHIPPING: Assistance will be given in making shipments after the sale, but no risk
is assumed by the Sale Management or Seller. Purchasers are requested to furnish
shipping arrangements when making settlement. Delivery is at the buyer’s risk.
Extra costs such as export fees are to the account of the buyer.
BREEDER’S GUARANTEE, BULLS: Should any bull (14) fourteen months of age
or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the
matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within (6) six months following the
date of purchase or (6) six months after the bull has reached (14) fourteen months of
age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of (6)six months to prove the bull
a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.
In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.
The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has
been sold nor for sickness not apparent at sale time.
EXCEPTION GUARANTEE: In case where the animal is subjected to any hormonal
or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and
void.
SETTLEMENT: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for
account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses such as feed, care, A.I., signing
fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc., will be charged by either party when making
settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal in question a breeder, the
said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to
so prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement
F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a refund of the actual price. Should a dispute
arise over the quality of a replacement animal, the Sale Management will appoint a
mediator.
ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and
comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any
responsibility in this matter and disclaim any liability, legal or other wise, in the
event of accident or loss of property.
D BAR L LIVESTOCK IS AGENT ONLY: D Bar L Livestock is only acting as
a medium between the buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any
failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations, or for the truth of any
warrantees or representations, express or implied. Neither does D Bar L Livestock
assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between
parties.
D Bar L Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to
the buyer. Any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken, must be between
the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfillment of all
guarantees and representations.
MAIL OR TELEPHONE BIDS: Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone or mail
their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives.
Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall
constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to
both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate
transaction, which is not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
INSURANCE: Will be available sale day.
