Hi, Hope this month's newsletter finds you well.
Hi,
Hope this month's newsletter finds you well.
The first news is that I am starting up monthly 'Playdays'.
These will be 10-3 on the second Friday of each month, starting this week- Friday 13th September.
I envision people coming along bringing whatever craft they like, spinning, weaving, knitting etc and
settling down for a day of being waited on whilst crafting. I plan the morning to be chatting whilst troubleshooting. I'm a bit of a craft jack-of-all-trades and so can often help with a troublesome spinning wheel/
knitting pattern or loom queries.
There'll be tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival and then homemade soup and a roll for lunch.
In the afternoon , I'll set up a taster session, for those that would like to - a short workshop on a different
theme each month.
This Friday, I thought we could all make a felted swirly coaster...
After that, we'll just natter and craft 'til home time at 3.
The playday will cost £10. This will cover lunch, refreshments and all materials for the miniworkshop.
If you think you might be coming, it would be worth letting me know, so that I have approximate
numbers for the soup and workshop, but feel free to just turn up if you find yourself free at the last
mo.
The October workshop will be Friday 11th October (Rosie's birthday so she might explode part way
through the day!) and the one after will be Friday 8th November.
Been a busy Bee in the cellar. New this month are some cute little candle lanterns with the 3 wise men
following the star...
These are £8.50 and I have a limited amount, so shout early if you fancy one.
I've also made some glass flowers, lovely for indoor or out. These are about 5 " across and would make a lovely
patch of colour in the border- nice Christmas present. They're £14.
The new saori loom has been very busy.
We have another convert....
and I've been making tops for me, bangles and cushions....
The cushions are lush, each really different and topped with a dichroic button.
If you fancy a day to yourself on the saori loom, just send me some dates and I'll arrange a workshop on a day to
suit you.
There was a fab learn to spin day in August. Not sure it was the tidiest day ever.....!
Lol, shouted to my family afterwards that I had 'broken the house'! Worth it though.
The last learn to weave workshop was a hoot too. 3 newbie weavers launched into the wild....
The next rigid heddle, learn to weave day is Friday 4th October, but don't forget, if this date doesn't suit, I'm
happy to arrange another.
***********The annual open days are looming. Pop along and see all the above, and much more, in person.
The dates are Wednesday 16th October and Thursday 17th October , 9am to 9pm each day,
At 8 marling close, frodsham, wa66ay.
If you know somewhere you could put up a flyer for me, please email me and I can email/send you a poster to
spread the word.********
I've been asked to find new homes for 2 looms.
There's a 16" rigid heddle loom, with lots of accessories for £100.....
And an ashford 8 shaft table loom and stand, with an unused extra heddle and unused treadle set. The whole
package comes to £625
Let me know if you've any questions, or want to come and have a closer look.
Phew! That was quite a lot of news.
Hope to see some of you on Friday.
Hugs
Bee
