Radiant Imaging provides ProSource™ software that enables the optical and illumination
system engineer to view and analyze Radiant Source Models™ in a variety of ways, as well as
generate ray sets that can be utilized with optical and illumination system design and analysis
programs like ZEMAX.
How to use ProSource Data with ZEMAX?
Radiant Imaging Software ProSource Supports following files : *.RS8, *.RS7, *.RSM,
*.MDB, and *.PSD. By this we can analyze luminance and luminous intensity
distributions of measurements contained in any Radiant Source Model. We can
Generate ray sets from any Radiant Source Model that are compatible with ZEMAXoptical design software in form of *.DAT file.
To generate IES file, ProSource software can be used very easily. IES file is created
from the Luminous Intensity Radar Plot. If the Radar Plot has not been generated, it
will automatically be generated when the IES file is generated. This may take a few
minutes the first time, but the Radar Plot will be saved to the Radiant Source Model
file (for RS7 and RS8 formats), and can be quickly reloaded in the future.
ProSource can generate ray sets formatted to be compatible with ZEMAX - the
optical design programs. Ray sets are generated using the Ray Generation dialog box
which is displayed by pressing the

As ZEMAX support not only Solid Work or Auto CAD file (*.IGS, *.STEP, *.SAT
format) but also support light source file from ProSource, OSRAM Data file (*.DAT
file). By this we can call these file in ZEMAX as shown below :
