How to change protocol
A) From D-MAX Protocol to PELCO-P protocol (4800 bps)
First, to change protocol, it is set DIP switch on the address dip switch panel inside
speed dome camera as below figure.
1. Turn off the power in the part A.
2. Turn on the DIP S/W 3 in the part
C. It is changed to ‘INIT’ (it means
turn on the dip s/w3).
3. Turn on the DIP S/W 1 and DIP
S/W 8 in the part B.
4. Now, turn on the power switch,
then it appears message on the
monitor as follows: ‘PELCO P
protocol, 4800 bps’ and so on.
5. Turn off the power again.
6. Turn off the DIP SW3 in the part C
(switch is changed ‘INIT’ to
‘ADDR’) and turn off the DIP SW 1
& 8 in the part B.
7. If you want to make any address
for the camera, please set the
address number as desire in the
part B. (If the camera is only, the
camera is recognized address
none)
8. Finally, please turn on the power
switch in the part A.
9. Now you can use in the PELCO –P
Protocol (4800 bps) based.

B) From D-MAX Protocol to PELCO-P protocol (2400 bps)

then it appears message on the
monitor as follows: ‘PELCO P
protocol, 2400 bps’ and so on.
14. Turn off the power again.
15. Turn off the DIP SW3 in the part
C (switch is changed ‘INIT’ to
‘ADDR’) and turn off the DIP SW 1
& 7 in the part B.
16. If you want to make any address
for the camera, please set the
address number as desire in the
part B. (If the camera is only, the
camera is recognized address
none)
17. Finally, please turn on the power
switch in the part A.
18. Now you can use in the PELCO –
P Protocol (2400 bps) based.

& 8 in the part B.
25. If you want to make any address
for the camera, please set the
address number as desire in the
part B. (If the camera is only, the

26. Finally, please turn on the power
switch in the part A.
Now you can use in the PELCO –
D Protocol (4800 bps) based.

C (switch is changed ‘INIT’ to
‘ADDR’) and turn off the DIP SW 2,
7 or 8 in the part B.

F) From PELCO-D to PELCO-P
First, to change protocol, it is set DIP switch on the address dip switch panel inside
speed dome camera as below figure.
43. Turn off the power in the part A.
44. Turn on the DIP S/W 3 in the
part C. It is changed to ‘INIT’ (it
means turn on the dip s/w3).
45. Turn on the DIP S/W 1 and DIP
S/W 7(2400 bps), or S/W 8(4800
bps) in the part B.
46. Now, turn on the power switch,
then it appears message on the
monitor as follows: ‘PELCO-P
protocol, 2400 bps or 4800 bps’
and so on.
47. Turn off the power again.
48. Turn off the DIP SW3 in the part
C (switch is changed ‘INIT’ to
‘ADDR’) and turn off the DIP SW 2,
7 or 8 in the part B.
49. If you want to make any address
for the camera, please set the
address number as desire in the
part B. (If the camera is only, the
camera is recognized address
none)
50. Finally, please turn on the power
switch in the part A.
Now you can use in the PELCO–P

G) From PELCO-P or D (2400 or 4800 bps) to D-MAX Protocol
First, to change protocol, it is set DIP switch on the address dip switch panel inside
speed dome camera as below figure.
51.Turn off the power switch in the
part A.
52.Turn DIP SW 3 to ‘INIT’ in the
part C.
53. If you already set the address dip
switch in the part B, please all is
off.
54. Turn on the power switch on the
part A.
55. Now, it appears messages on
the
monitor
as
follows:
“ DONGYANG UNITECH Protocol”
and so on.
56. Turn off the power switch again
and turn DIP SW3 in the part C
(switch is changed ‘INIT’ to
‘ADDR’).
57. If you want to use address,
please setup the address as
desire in the part B.
58. Turn on the power switch in the
part A.
59. Now, you can use the camera on
the D-MAX Protocol based.

H) From D-MAX Protocol to AD(American Dynamics) Protocol (4800 bps)
First, to change protocol, it is set DIP switch on the address dip switch panel inside
speed dome camera as below figure.
60. Turn off the power in the part A.
61. Turn on the DIP S/W 3 in the part
C. It is changed to ‘INIT’ (it
means turn on the dip s/w3).
62. Turn on the DIP S/W 1, DIP S/W
2 and DIP S/W 8 in the part B.
63. Now, turn on the power switch,
then it appears message on the
monitor as follows: ‘AD protocol,
4800 bps’ and so on.
64. Turn off the power again.
65. Turn off the DIP SW3 in the part
C (switch is changed ‘INIT’ to
‘ADDR’) and turn off the DIP SW
1,2 & 8 in the part B.
66. If you want to make any address
for the camera, please set the
address number as desire in the
part B. (If the camera is only, the
camera is recognized address
none).
67. Finally, please turn on the power
switch in the part A.
68. Now you can use in the AD
Protocol (4800 bps) based.

You should combine with the DIP switch to change protocols as follows.
1 + 8 + 3 = PELCO-P (4800 bps)
1 + 7 + 3 = PELCO-P (2400 bps)
2 + 8 + 3 = PELCO-D (4800 bps)
2 + 7 + 3 = PELCO-D (2400 bps)
1+2+8+3 = AD (4800 bps)
Caution : After converting the protocol as desired, do not make ‘address
no.(0)’ on the speed dome. Because of the address no. (0) is available for
D-MAX protocol only.
If you make a setting on Pelco by one dome, please make address no.(1)
on the dome.
