Holy Spirit Catholic Church
Parish Mission Statement
January 12, 2006
We, the Parish Community of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, are a family of many cultural backgrounds.
Our mission is to enrich the spiritual life of all parishioners, through the active participation in prayer and
the sacraments, promoting opportunities to grow in faith and hope,
and providing a place to come together in the love of God and neighbor.
We are committed to the needs of our parishioners and to reach beyond to serve the needs of others.
We are called by the Spirit to witness the forgiving, healing and saving presence of Jesus
as one Church and one people.
Holy Spirit morning Faith Sharing Fellowship begins
meeting on Wednesday, October 4. Need a miracle in
your life? Come to Room 3 in Doyle Hall, we will be
sharing “The Miracles of Jesus”. For more information, call Joyce at (714) 545-9077.
Vocation View
The Lord calls many to service in
the Church. How can you, in
prayer, love, and action, support
those who are called to service as priests and
religious? (Mark 9:38-43). For more information
on vocations, please contact Msgr. Will Davis
at (714) 282-3000.

caregivers get a day off, since the Knights of
Columbus volunteer their hours to support the
care giving needs of the camp.

HIS HANDS CHRISTIAN
SERVICE
Kudos to our students from the
Confirmation class for a fantastic
project; collecting school supplies
for the children of our families at the mission.
They collected boxes and boxes of binders, filler
paper, composition tablets, folders, book covers,
glue, markers, pens, pencils, crayons, erasers,
rulers, protractors and some backpacks. The
parents were so grateful. Again a great big
thank you to our confirmation students who
worked hard to help needy students.

Hello, I am Joan Kennedy and I
am the Eucharist Coordinator
here at Holy Spirit Parish and WE
NEED YOU! I am sure you have
seen us on the altar every Sunday and I am sure
some of you have wondered how you might be able
to participate in this wonderful ministry. Well, this is
your chance, WE NEED YOU. My numbers are
listed. Did I mention, WE NEED YOU especially
for the 5:00 PM Masses on Saturday and Sunday.
God Bless—Joan Kennedy 714-865-5295, or
[email protected]
Hello, I am Arlene Doan and I am the Eucharist Coordinator to the sick here at Holy Spirit Parish and
WE NEED YOU! If you would like to participate in
this wonderful ministry, please contact Arlene Doan
at (714)-963-9424 or [email protected].
One of the most important issues in the
November election will be Prop. 85. It will
require a doctor to notify a parent 48 hours
before doing an abortion on a minor. Please
vote YES on Prop. 85. Support the parent’s
right to know and child protection ballot initiative.
October is Respect Life Month
To begin this month’s activities is today’s LIFE CHAIN of silent prayer where
we join with other churches in solidarity to
be a public witness that abortion is wrong
and the Church is opposed to the killing of unborn children. Who will stand up in defense of these silent, helpless victims?
Please join us on the sidewalks at the four corners of
Warner Ave. and Euclid St., in silent prayer, 2:30-3:30
PM. Signs will be available after the Masses or on site.
This makes a profound witness to our community. To
save ONE baby, saves generations! Is THAT not
worth ONE hour? Remember, to do nothing is to
give in!
The month will end with the annual PENNIES FROM
HEAVEN collection of jars, baggies and cans full of
coins. Proceeds go to eight centers that support women
and minors in crisis pregnancies in all areas of need.
