It is worth noting that the International Hunting Fair in Sosnowiec is becoming more and more "international" - 20% of
the exhibitors are foreign manufacturers and distributors. EXPOHunting is successively becoming a recognizable brand in
Europe, because it is the most dynamically developing event for hunting and forest trip enthusiasts. During this year’s
edition, the exhibitors presented their products and services in the area larger by 24% in comparison with last year,
and by almost 1,000% in comparison with the first edition. Also the number of visitors has been growing systematically –
this year’s fair in Sosnowiec was visited by more than 8 thousand people!
The 2014 EXPOHunting Fair was organized under the Patronage of the Senate Environment Commission, the Polish
Association of Gunsmiths and Gun Distributors and the Polish Guild of Knifemakers. The opening of the Fair was
accompanied by a meeting of the Parliamentary Group for Forestry, Environmental Protection and Hunting Tradition. For
the next time the patronage over the Fair was assumed by the General Directorate of State Forests. As a result, the
program of the fair was expanded by interesting meetings and exhibitions aimed at all the nature enthusiasts. The
youngest participants in the fair could participate in the competitions prepared by the State Forests or get to know the
secrets of the bee world. Adult visitors had the chance to become familiar with the hunting services in the game breeding
centers in several regional State Forest Directorates.
In order to appreciate the international rank of the event, the President of the Republic of Poland – Bronisław Komorowski
again decided to address a letter to the organizers and visitors of the Fair. The letter was read out by the Secretary of
State of the Presidential Chancellery Mr. Dariusz Młotkiewicz. The following persons participated in the ceremonial opening
and visitation of the exhibition: Mr. Bogdan Marcinkiewicz, a Member of the European Parliament, Mr. Stanisław Gorcyzca –
a Senator of the Republic of Poland, Vice-President of the Senate Environment Commission, President of the Parliamentary
Team for Forestry, Environmental Protection and Hunting Traditions, and the Senators of the Republic of Poland: Mr.
Jarosław Lasecki, Mr. Stanisław Hodorowicz and Mr. Bogusław Śmigielski.
The opening was also graced with the presence of Mr. Krzysztof Janeczko – Deputy Managing Director of the State Forests,
Mr. Kazimierz Szabla – Director of the Katowice Local Directorate of Polish State Forests, Mr. Stanisław Sennik – Director of
the Kraków Local Directorate of Polish State Forests and Mr. Jan Błaszczyk – SL Chief Specialist. In the opening there also
participated the Partners of the Fair: Mr. Waldemar Cichoń, President of the Bytom division of the Polish Kennel Club and
Mr. Roman Włodarz, President of the Management Board of the Silesian Chamber of Agriculture. There were also present
the local self-government authorities and the members of the Collectors and Hunting Culture Club, as well as the Grand
Master and members of the Order of the Knights of the Golden Stag.
A wide range of weapons and ammunitions, the exhibitors presenting the brands from all over the world, are just
some of the factors that distinguish EXPOHunting against the background of other events for the hunting sector in Poland.
Another one is innovativeness, i.e. presentation of the products that have never appeared (or have appeared to a limited
degree) in Poland before, or the promotion of the aspects of hunting that are unknown or have just started to gain
popularity. The fair in Sosnowiec will be the first event giving the opportunity to try bow hunting, or to learn the secrets of
knifemaking. This year the visitors were able to transfer their hobbies to the virtual zone - due to the electronic hunting log
and a special system, in which we can create the maps of our hunting grounds, manage hunting calendars or review
detailed hunting statistics.
The EXPOHunting Fair was full of premieres and novelties in the Polish market – almost 100 hundred products and
services, associated with weapons, clothes and accessories. Among others, the Fair presented the following premieres:
two-cycle hunting rifle Innogun Integral with an innovative weapon folding solution [barrel and lock turned by 180
degrees, and the whole unit becomes very short and easy to transport], new models from the B725 series or the
revolutionary two-cycle unit Maral from Knieja, combination gun Blaser BD14 and Sig 716 caliber .308 Win from M.K.
Szuster. There appeared also other attractive and valuable weapons as a double-barrelled pistol from Arsenal Firearms,
model 2011 caliber 45 ACP presented by Progres, Hambrusch – hunting rifle with a block system in the largest world
African caliber - .700 Nitro Express or Innogun – the first in the world combination of a ball-and-shot gun and a repeater
hunting rifle from Hubertech, a single-shot hunting rifle Blaser K95 caliber .30 R Blaser – the most interesting unit from the
50 items presented by M.K. Szuster.
It is worth noting that the Fair was visited by the representatives of the most important foreign leaders: Blaser,
Mauser, Meopta, Ruag, Sauer. The attention of the guests and media was drawn by Peter Hambrusch from the
Ferlachguns firm from Austria, who was telling the story of his firm from 1752.
This year's fair in Sosnowiec was a treat for all the bow hunting enthusiasts. For the first time EXPOHunting was
granted the patronage of the Polish Bowhunting Association, so the event was expanded by a lecture on "Bowhunting" and
by a shooting range, where visitors had the chance to learn the secrets of that art. The traditions of 3D archery were
presented in the stand and shooting range prepared by Centrum Łucznicze L. Socha. In the fair sector - there appeared the
leaders of that industry - the Bignami S.P.A. and JVD Outdoor firms.
However, EXPOHunting is not only the fairs, but especially an opportunity for meetings, exchanging experiences
and expanding one's knowledge. It was possible thanks to the rich program of 37 accompanying events, such as the
lectures in the conference centre: “Women in hunting” prepared by Dajrota Durbas-Nowak, ”The ABC of black powder
weapons” and ”Access to permits for weapons for collecting purposes” organized by the Silesian Association of Arms
Enthusiasts, or the meetings of the Safari Club Association “Hunting in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.” The economic
and legal problems between hunting, agriculture and forestry, were addressed by Mr. Roman Włodarz, President of the
Management Board of the Silesian Chamber of Agriculture. The Fair was accompanied, among others, by natural
exhibitions of photographs and trophies from different parts of the world (prepared by: PREDAR Dariusz Tanistra,
Pracownia Preparatorska Taxidermy K. Wnęczak, Pracownia Preparowania Zwierząt B. Kieś and the Safari Club).
The visitors could check their skills at one of the laser shooting range (prepared by Kaliber Sp. z o.o. and the Silesian
Shooting Club “Alfa”), and the pneumatic shooting range prepared by the Magazyn Sezon, as well as in many competitions
prepared by the organizers and exhibitors of EXPOHunting. The main stage was vibrant with life from the beginning to the
end of the Fair. There were organized such events as: Hunting Fashion Show and the presentation of new products.
Biuro Polowań Huntpol prepared demonstrations of deer decoy, and for three days we could listen to the concerts
and demonstrations of signals prepared by the Hunting Bugler Band from the Forest Technical School in Brynek. The
stay at the fair was also whiled away by the concerts of hunting buglers from “ES-KADRA” and “Leśny Róg” from the
Prószków Forest Inspectorate.
As every year, a lot of interest was generated by the presentation of hunting dogs, and by the selection of the
EXPOHunting Champion by the visitors. This year’s title was awarded to a pair of Weimaraners ANTA LAVA Just
Weimaraner and ENJOY LIFE Just Weimaraner. The second position was held by braque d'auvergne - Khyannes Issole,
also known as Koti. The third position was given to a pair of English Setters LILIAN Marisett and PASJA from Orszak
Chrobrego. Many people also attended the demonstration of birds of prey. It was a superb opportunity to learn about
the history of falconry and the customs of a peregrine falcon, saker falcon, buzzard and several species of owls.
On the occasion of the 5th anniversary edition we awarded statuettes to the firms, media and partners who have
been participating in EXPOHunting since the first edition. Those included: Agencja Lotnicza “Altair” Sp. z o.o. – the

For the first time during the Fair there was organized the Trendy EXPOHunting competition, the purpose of which was
to award those Exhibitors at EXPOHunting who were conducting active promotion and information strategy during the fair,
and who were creating trends in innovative manners of communication with clients. Therefore, the aim of the competition
was to promote high standards of customer service in the sector of fairs. The representatives of the industry media
(independently) selected 5 firms in the respective competition categories, by giving them from 5 to 1 points. The points
were then added up, and thus the best exhibitors in the respective categories were selected. The representatives of the
following media were assessing the exhibitors: "Brać Łowiecka", Fauna&Flora, łowiecki.pl, "Magazyn Sezon",
poradniklowiecki.pl, "Zachodni Poradnik Łowiecki". The Distinctions in the Trendy EXPOHunting competition were awarded

has received most total points from our jurors in all the categories, which means that its promotion during the
EXPOHunting 2014 fairs was considered to be the most complete and the best – M.K. SZUSTER.
The advertising campaign of the Fair was organized in Polish and foreign trade media: magazines
