Dear Friends,
Thank you all so much for you generous donations to "Emily's
Missions". I have collected $127 from my FUMC church family
and another $92 from friends and family outside of church. That
is an awesome $219 and I am so grateful. As planned, $150 of that will go
towards hamburgers and water to feed the homeless in Greenville.
Everything else will go towards AMI. I visited AMI last Thursday, and the
boys were so so soooooo appreciative of a Halloween card and a small bag of
candy for each of them.....something we take for granted everyday! This is
something so important to me because I feel like the boys truly appreciate it
and I appreciate your continued support.
Thank you again and I love you all,
Emily Spencer

GETTING TO KNOW
JOHN & MERRY YOUNG
It was just 27 years ago this month that John and
Merry married. During that time they have accomplished
and contributed to the community and the church. They
have two children, Jack and Ellen both attending college.
Merry, who graduated from Landrum College and
received her Master’s from The College of Charleston, is
a Teacher at Dorman Freshman Campus. John, who split
his time at USC and a Masters from Clemson, is the
General Manager of LCPW. Both have been at Laurens
for 14 years when they moved here from Summerville.
Merry enjoys Reading and Sewing, John also likes
to read and enjoys all work outdoors. Both are active on
committees in the church and the community. John is
currently the Chairman of the Church Council. You can
be sure to see both of them at church activities, sharing
stories during children’s sermons and giving back to the
church they are such a vital part of.
