“The Celebration Place dream is to put Celebrate Recovery out of business by breaking the
cycles of dysfunction in our families” – John Baker. This is a 52-week kids-friendly
curriculum using kid-friendly methods in terms children can understand.
Celebration Place gives kids: Hope for all the amazing things God has in store for them;
Truths that help them overcome life’s challenges by learning to lean on Jesus; Joy as they
embark on a wonderful yearlong journey of songs, games, videos, impactful experiences
and great conversation, friendships with other children. This program is a collaboration with
Celebrate Recovery and The United Methodist Temple Church. Activities will be held at
the United Methodist Temple Church on the corner of Sycamore and Locust in
downtown Clarksburg.
Mondays starting January 5th . 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Girls Circle (for grades 4 & 5)
The concept of “forgive and forget” is sometimes lost on girls of this age, especially when
the hurt is deep and the friendship is fractured. This seven-week program is designed to
help girls in 4th and 5th grade learn new information that will help them apply conflict
resolution skills to their own situations and encourage healthier relationship alternatives.
Choosing friends wisely and being a good role model foster self esteem and confidence
which can alleviate inner-conflicts that can begin in childhood and explode into violence
years later. Topics include: What is a grudge?; What role have you played in grudges, past
and present?; and, Selecting from a menu of behaviors that can resolve or avoid grudges.
