This high school tournament will take place the evening before the Hoinke Bearcat
Classic College Tournament. No admission fee is required for team (consists of 8 roster bowlers & 1 coach). ONLY 8 admission tickets ($5.00 each) are available per
team (NO TICKET, NO ENTRY). The coach MUST order the tickets on registration
form. All 68 lanes will be used for this High School tournament. Over 80 Men’s &
Women’s College teams participated in last year’s tournament. All college coaches
participating in the Hoinke Bearcat College Classic will be invited to attend this High
School Tournament. This will provide your bowlers an opportunity to showcase their
talent in front of college coaches. It is recommended that each bowler interested in
college bowling bring a high school and bowling resume to this tournament to give to
college coaches in attendance. Some of the colleges that participated in last year’s
tournament are shown below:
This tournament will observe the rules of participation and play established by the Ohio High School Athletic Association
(OHSAA). Due to facility considerations, the maximum number of participating teams is limited to sixty-six (66) and will be determined on a “first come-first served” paid entry based on postmark date. No unpaid entries will be accepted or reserved. Reservations to participate will NOT be accepted by telephone or E-mail. It is anticipated that this tournament will be a “sell-out.”
Tournament Format
There are two (2) separate team divisions: boys and girls. Five (5) participating bowlers per team. Team roster is limited to eight
(8) bowlers. The format is the same for each division.
All teams will bowl two (2) regular games moving one pair to the right after the first game. Coaches will draw for starting lanes
during check-in. After the completion of regular bowling, teams will be re-ordered for five (5) bakers games and placed on lanes
with teams #1 and #2 on the same pair of lanes. The remaining teams will be placed in order with #3 and #4 on the same pair of
lanes and continuing until all teams have been placed.
Total pins from the two (2) regular games and five (5) baker games will determine the Bearcat High School Classic Champion.
Awards will be provided to the top 3 teams and their bowlers in each division and an individual “All-Tournament Team” based on
total pins from the regular bowling.
