Competitive applicants to IAS majors will have the following:
1. All prerequisites/major related courswork complete or in-progress.
2. A minimum grade of 2.7 in all prerequisites/major related coursework.
3. 15 credits in each Area of Knowledge complete or in-progress.
4. A minimum grade of 2.7 in composition classes.
5. A minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.00

Writing your Personal Statement
The personal statement is a very important part of your application
and should be well written. It is recommended that you compose your
personal statement in a word processing document before submitting it
with your application.
Your personal statement should clearly articulate why you have chosen
the major that you are applying for, and what your long-term goals and
aspirations are. Stated goals & aspirations should fit with the major
and IAS.
(Personal statements should be approximately 650 words.)
