THE WINNING ATTITUDE (Motivating the workforce) – 2 days
Overview
Topics Covered
It is obvious that the Management of most organisations recognize the fact
that a significant part of the expected level of performance will be achieved
by building the capacity of employees to achieve set goals. The ability of staff
to inculcate the winning attitude is recognized as highly important to the
process.
The Winning Attitude incorporates the Fish Philosophy and Attitude Virus.
The Fish philosophy is centered on a Fish market in Seattle, USA, where the
workers exhibit exceptional attitude to work and have developed a culture
that has assisted them to become world famous. Major corporations and
business enterprises have studied the operations of the company with the
objective of getting an insight into a practical model for sustained positive
work culture.
To ensure local relevance, we have developed case studies depicting
individuals who also exhibit exceptional attitude to work despite challenging
situations in order to portray a strong perspective of a positive work
attitude, beliefs and culture that will give participants a strong desire to learn
and improve their performance.
The Attitude Virus explores seven types of attitude virus in the workplace
and proffers solutions for tackling them.

DEVELOPING BUSINESS ACUMEN – 3 days
Overview
Topics Covered
“You have to combine instinct with good business acumen. You
just can’t be creative, and you just can’t be analytical.” – Andrea
Jung
The term business acumen is simply the art of linking an
insightful assessment of the external business world with
an understanding of how money can be made. Then
stakeholders develop key strategies to deliver desired
results. This intelligence provides great scope to make
good business judgments and quick decisions that are
ultimately profitable for your organisation.
No single aspect of managerial skill is more important. If
the assessments and assumptions taken are inaccurate,
your organisation’s strategic positioning is likely to be
misplaced. The result is developing wrong capabilities,
hiring unskilled people, entering into the wrong markets
and focusing energy on non-profitable activities.

ESSENTIAL INTERVIEWING SKILLS PROGRAMME – 2 days

Increasingly, human resources (HR) specialists and managers involved
in the hiring process view future job openings with a combination of
excitement and apprehension. It is becoming apparent that the labour
pool from which employers select new employees is changing at every
level, from minimum wage and hourly paid workers right up the ranks
to professionals and executives. –For the above reason the ability to hire
the right people is critical. Very few managers know how to tell the
difference between a top performer and an ‘eloquent incompetent’

SELLING TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY – 3 days
Overview
Topics Covered
Nothing happens anywhere in the world until a sale takes place.
And sales people bring in the money everyone else can eventually
live off of. Richard Denny
Most business managers agree that it is very difficult to find
professional salespeople who can go out and bring back the
business. Before now it was believed that good products
sell themselves but the market has become more
competitive and in order to survive and make progress, it is
necessary to understand selling and persuasion. For
organisations to sustain peak performance in the 21st
century, they do not need people hired just to make
marketing calls but true professionals, self motivated to beat
competition. Selling to Improve Service Delivery

SUCCESSION PLANNING – 3 days
Overview
Topics Covered
Succession management is critical to organisations’ success and
creates an effective process for recognizing, developing, and
retaining top leadership talent. It is important to note that
strategic succession planning is not about talents the organization
needs now; rather, it is projecting the talent, knowledge, skills
and competencies needed for the future.
Planning for both the foreseen and unexpected absences of people
who hold key roles in an organization is a task which most
employers often avoid or engage in only in an informal manner.
Without concentrated effort on succession planning, a business
that has been successful can quickly fail if one or more of its
leaders are lost. When succession planning is carefully conducted
and the plan periodically reviewed, extended and costly
vacancies can be avoided.
The Succession Planning Programme is designed to help
organisations replicate leaders consistently.
