A poster and application forms for this post
are in Church. The post is 40 hours per
week with a salary of £20,000, fixed term
maternity cover until 1st May 2016 with the
possibility of becoming permanent after that
date. The deadline for applications is 26th
January. An application pack is also available

the Church of England, have close attention
to detail and a can-do attitude, we need to
hear from you.
We have great speakers lined up and, with
the General Election in May, this will give us
a head start to contacting the prospective
candidates about our concerns as Christians.

David Deboys. David, who is on the staff of

A Fairtrade Church. If you buy products
for use at Church or in the Cottages please
purchase Fairtrade alternatives if they are
available. We will hold sales of Fairtrade
Products a couple of times a year. In Britain
there are over 7,300 churches, mosques,
temples and synagogues that have signed up
to be Fairtrade and the products range from
coffee to flowers, cotton to dried fruit. In
2012 it was worth £1.57 billion in the UK
economy.

Still Small Voice – British biblical art in
a secular age. The first of a series of five
special lectures will be held at The Wilson
on 28th January at 5.30 p.m. Poster and

Open the Book – your prayer support

Christingle. Again we will celebrate
Candlemas on Feb 1st this year with
Christingles. You can help raise funds for the
important work of the Children’s Society by
taking a collecting box from the back of
church and returning it on Feb 1st. Look on
their website for more information about

Residential Care Homes
Over the past year or so two new Care
Homes have opened in the parish. We hold
monthly Communion Services in each of
them and it would be good if a few people
from the congregation at St Peter’s join in. It
shows we care as a church. The next
services are Hampton House (Leckhampton
Rd) Wednesday 21st at 11.30am; Middleton
House (Pilley Lane) on Thursday, 22nd at
11am; The Grange (Pilley Lane) on Tuesday,
27th at 2pm. Please join us if you are able.
Cheltenham Inter Faith meeting on the
subject of Subud, the international spiritual
movement, will be held on Thursday 22nd
January at 7.30 p.m. at the Friends’ Meeting
House, Warwick Place.
Christians in the World 2.2.15
Following Richard’s compelling talk on the
impact of the Ebola outbreak in Western
Africa, we have decided that our next event
will be a fundraising bring-and-share supper
for the Kambia Appeal in the Cottages on
Monday 2nd February at 8 p.m. More details

As part of the Big Appeal for the Church
roof (which passed £100,000 in December)
a series of four study days on writers and
poets, hosted by Adrian Barlow and Roger
Symon, will be held at the Church House,
Painswick Road, commencing on Wednesday
4 March with George Herbert.
Further dates for your diary are: John
Betjeman on Saturday 2nd May; Anthony
Trollope on Wednesday 23rd September;
and T.S. Eliot on Saturday 28th November.
Each day will begin with coffee at 10 a.m. and
will include lunch, closing at 4 p.m. The
suggested donation for each day is £20.

Soul Spark in Lent
A short course exploring prayer and spiritual
growth through prayer, reflection and
sharing developed by the Revd Nick Helm
will begin with an introductory meeting at
the Harnhill Centre of Christian Healing,
Cirencester, on Saturday 24th January. Full

Musica Vera ‘Come and Sing’ day will be
held at Christ Church, Cheltenham on
Saturday 7th March 2015, with registration
from 10.30 a.m., rehearsals during the day,
and a performance of Handel’s ‘Israel in
Egypt’ at 7.30 p.m. Proceeds to Sue Ryder
and the Festival of Performing Arts. A poster

Prom Praise 2015 at the Royal Albert
Hall. A Christian ‘Last Night of the Proms’.
