faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.” Gal. 3:22
God’s Word can bring purpose and meaning to a person who
has lost the desire to live. It can take a young man or woman and
send him/her around the world with a desire to share it with others.
God’s Word brings life…or it can bring death. You see the Scriptures
bring tremendous information to man and that information can
either save him or condemn him. It’s really the ultimate “bad news,
good news” story. The Bible tells us all have sinned, all have broken
God’s law, and all will be judged. Now that, we may say, is the
“bad news”; however, our text also contains the “good news.” God
has not given His word that we all may be condemned but that we
might all have opportunity to receive “the promise.” What is this
promise? If a man or woman will believe in Jesus Christ they can be
cleansed of all sin, presented righteous before God and given new
life. Now that’s good news! That is the reason God shows us our
sin; that we might discover the promise of God. First, we must
come to that place where we agree with God about our sinfulness.
If you are not convinced that you are under sin then this good news
will mean nothing to you.
Do you believe in Jesus? Do you trust in Him for your salvation?
Do you cling to Him? Is your life changed, as you trust Him? The
Gospel, the glorious good news, is God not condemning us but
commanding us to turn away from sin and turn to Jesus Christ and
live.
