SUMMATIVE and EXAM SCHEDULE
Note: Junior exams are scheduled for 1.5 hours and Senior exams for 2 hours.
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:
On the reverse, you’ll find the June, 2015 exam schedule. Wherever possible, we have
eliminated conflicts and have done our best to balance the workload (e.g. not having
three consecutive exam periods or not having more than one exam in a day, etc.)
Should you have any concerns about conflicts or workload, please see Ms.
Stevens. Under our exam policies, we are not able to change exams for vacations,
student work, etc. Should there be an emergency (e.g. illness), a doctor’s note will be
required. If you have any questions, please call me (Ms. Stevens)at 613-389-8932,
extension 364.
Summative Evaluations are outlined on the schedule. Please note that some
summative evaluations are completed in the last two weeks of regular classes. You
should ideally have no more than one assessment task per day during regular classes
outside of the formal examination period. Please see Ms. Stevens with any concerns
about your individual workload.
Dates of Exams - All students must attend all of their scheduled exams. Exams will
not be rescheduled due to vacation or regular work, so please check the schedule
carefully before making any plans. Students who are ill or late must contact the main
office immediately.
Attention Accommodated Students: You will be expected to complete only one
assessment per day if you are accessing an accommodation of additional time. Please
see Ms. Stevens or Ms. Stewart if you are accommodated or have any concerns about
your schedule or assistive technology needs.
Location of Exams - Exams are written in the cafeteria or in designated classrooms.
Materials Not Allowed Into Examinations:
The only materials that you may bring to your exam seat are the materials needed to
write your exam as designated by your teacher. I-Pods, MP3 players, cell phones or
any other listening devices are not to be used or worn during the exam. Additional
papers, notebooks or materials are not permitted into the exam hall.
Student Study Areas - students who are in the school during summative evaluations or
exams, but are not writing exams, should be in a designated study area such as the
library. No students will be in the halls during exam times.
Academic Dishonesty - talking, communicating with other students, using information
not permitted in the exam room, looking at other students’ work or assisting other
students is strictly forbidden. Any issues of academic dishonesty will be referred to
administration.
Book Return - Textbooks must be brought to your exam location, unless otherwise
specified by your teacher.
REMEMBER…



Exam times are 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. You should arrive 10-15 minutes prior
to the start of your summative evaluation or exam.
Set up an exam study schedule well before the exam week.
You must remain in the exam room for at least one hour.
Best wishes for your final preparations for success !!
